Every developer, honestly - almost every game ever released involves mechanics listed. Remember pits in mario games? Spikes in Megaman games? Yeah instant death mechanics aren't new, just people being overly sensitive to it now.

At least the bad players in the game who love to have excuses about the cheap mechanics can't fall to such nonsense this time around. I expect crybabies to flat rage quit and unsubscribe from that alone. If you're not good to take down Extreme Mode content, you're not good enough and need to practice. Simple as that.

Difficult content is important for the health of the game, no matter why it's difficult, instant kill mechanics or not. Still, I do find myself wishing the fights were a bit easier. They are very stressful and I wonder where the game is heading. Next year: Leviathan super mega EXTREME! A ten hour fight and you can't screw up once or you DIE! I mean, some of us get a great sense of satisfaction when we beat these fights. Oh wait, did I say satisfaction? I mean relief. Relief that we won't have to do the fight again and can continue on with the story. Except... now someone in our FC needs it. Damn it. Here we go again. Better take my blood pressure meds

Or Next Year: Titan Exo Mode: Titan has a bf/gf and he/she will crush you big time!

Comparing single player games to MMOs..

XIV is your first MMO and that's ok - Because there's many MMOs with traps you can jump into that kills you instantly, same with large drops (which some boss arenas have.) It's just a sad time that people are overly sensitive to something that isn't new in gaming at all :\

Stop crying, Titan Extreme is easy and fun. If youre shit and cant handle it then go practise until you CAN. Extreme modes are there cause we WANT challanging content, casuals/randoms who lack skill and gear should stay away from it until youve gained appropriate skill to beat harder content.

The reasons you dislike it is why I enjoy it. Yeah the mechanics are pretty much one hit kill, but Titan is on a tight rotation. Once you learn the pattern, you can do it without a problem. Even with lag you would be able to dodge hit attacks and know what to do.

Or stay away from the content entirely. Last time I check, Extreme Mode is optional.
