If you have people dying all the time so you can recover all the time, how can you judge someone else's player skill when no one should be dying... let alone all the time?

The greatest moments of my video game career was the killing of these 2 NMs, back before the 2 hour time limit for AV, and not too long after the 2 hour limit was put in place for PW. If I could, I would go back and fight them all over again as they used to be.
But instant death mechanics with no window of opportunity to do anything about are lame. Titan knocking you off the side is the only part that grinds my gears, otherwise hes fine.
I think the problem isn't the mechanics of Titan EM. It wasn't the mechanics in HM either. It's how the UI interfaces with the server and since there is a delay (and a huge one for many people, even those with great connections by any other account) that SE has no intention of addressing, certain players, skilled or not, are left behind. Time Warner users know exactly what I'm talking about.
In HM, you can learn to preavoid everything, and hope that you don't accidentally get caught in plumes (or multiple eruptions in the case of Ifrit/Ultima) and eventually you will succeed. As you get higher gear, this becomes easier (since I hit i70+ I have not lost an HM fight because of my lag), but there are also constraints on how quickly you can get that gear in a week/ever(never saw a single SCH primal weapon. Went straight from DL to Relic).
Ultimately though, you shouldn't have to prevoid. The fact that some people lag and some people don't hurts the community greatly; the fact that people are instantaneously against others is just pathetic. If SE cannot fix the lag issue, they should stop being so inclined to use abilities that punish their clients for not having Teh Uber Connection Time.
I think the problem with Titan is the fact that you cannot revive those who died. Landslide is not really a problem by itself, it's a mechanic that keeps up the adrenaline (well, that and the latency, mostly latency), but not being able to revive just sucks balls, especially because latency is a given part of MMO. I do think that Titan mechanics rely solely on good internet connection instead of player skill, and that's just bad
Titan Extreme isn't very hard with people who know what they are doing and how to dodge like people in your FC.
However if you want more extreme mode weapons by repeating the quest you have to rely on DF if you don't want to keep bothering people in your FC to do extreme modes. Getting 7 other people who know how to dodge and do the fight in DF is like winning the lottery it almost never happens. Biggest issue with the fight getting a full group who can dodge mechanics.
I dont agree, i find Titan Extreme very fun, i havent cleared it yet but i've only had a handful of attempts and I found it to be a lot of fun.
Amen. Best post I have read on this forum in a long long time. I hope SE reads this. This game heavily relies on Instant Kill Mechanics to make content difficult. Titan is the only fight IN THE ENTIRE GAME that has the possibility to completely remove you from the fight. On top of pretty much every action he does being an instant kill.
Constant dodging is not only trivial, but frustrating when if you screw up one time your done. I clear twintania weekly, and even twisters aren't as punishing as landslide. Sick of this being considered "fun" Content when half the people have difficulty getting out of ridiculous plumes. Please stop with all these instant kill mechanics that are way to over punishing.
