    Although it's entirely an academic discussion, I'll bite.

    If you earned the 300 tomes a week from the time you started your sub, you'd be able to spam out i90 gear right as you hit 50. If it didn't start accumulating until you had a combat job at 50, and it didn't accumulate when you weren't subscribed, it wouldn't fundamentally alter gear accumulation but would not offer any advantage to those who play more often than those who do not, which is not generally how MMOs are designed.

    The developers feel that a week is a long enough period to allow for a few hours of playing. I don't see why consistent players shouldn't be rewarded versus those who cannot play for a few weeks at a time. Given the upcoming content that will allow you to spam out i80 gear I don't think keeping some gear exclusive to those who are actually playing the game is unreasonable.

    Giving dungeons/coil a cool down accomplishes the same thing a token system does, slowing down progression to keep your players playing over a long period of time. Also, if dungeons had a cooldown they would have to change the entire system they have in place now including doing relic quests.

    Once cap is 400, that is a great number to cap it at for the next year imo.

    Depending on the cool down would depend on how slow the progression is. Usually with token systems are much slower than running dungeons. But like I said, I know that will never happen. I'm fully aware of the fact that the game isn't set up that way.

    For those of you who interpreted the rollover period as starting at level 1 with the subscription, that was my mistake, I neglected to state a starting point. I did not intend for it to mean that the full 2000 tomes or so would be available immediately upon hitting 50. Were it up to me I believe I'd have it start with either the first myth tome earned or the completion of the storyline quest - I'd have to think a bit more about the implications either one might have.

    This would make the most sense to me, although I think either way you'll end up with some people having more myth tomes faster (as you're probably not putting myth on full grind as soon as you hit 50).

    We have a difference of philosophy or perspective (I'd probably favor the cap carrying over more if I was unable to play every week...) but I do believe that a weekly cap strikes a reasonable compromise between being nonrestrictive on players and rewarding those who do play.

    I am with you on this....if they wanted to purposely hold players up they should have (in my opinion) done it in a "better" way. I think we are all just sick of doing the same 1-2 dungeons every week and Coils for those of us that can find groups to play with (my FC does not have enough players ready yet...so save the comments on that one). They should have made the RELIC Quest longer than hell to complete so that when you got it you felt REALLY GOOD about what you are holding...it feels good now but with many out there it almost cheapens it...alright it completely cheapens it. They also should have made super long quests to obtain your DL and/ or AF +1 gear and then that would have felt good to have...instead we say, " I just ran WP and AK a bunch of times to get this gear and it took me this long to do it...yay?"
    The entire problem here is that the game was rushed and this was an "easy" solution for them to make it work in their mind. run the same dungeons and create a token system so that we do not have to come up with more content right now. Then we will make T5 hard as hell so players will be stuck forever unless they have no lives and can play with the same group for 6 hours a day on end to get it down so good that they can finally beat the cheating content.
    Yes I am ranting but I feel that people making excuses for lack of content is frustrating when it is lack of creativity on the part of the dev team.
    To be fair I will say that I still love the game and I grind out my dungeons each week (thank god they are raising MYTH cap to 450) and have fun with my FC and leveling my alts and crafting...I just want some more frigging story please....I do not even burn through content like some people so it cannot be said that I "over play" the game and it is my fault.
    Come on Crystal Tower....we all need (well some of us need) our iLV 80 gear since it takes 6 months to get all AF +1 to tide us over for a while.

    I think that was the OP's point. There are numerous situations where other events in your life will take priority over the game, and it would be nice for SE to acknowledge that by adding some flexibility to the myth cap system. It would have no impact on maximum progression levels, and it would make the game more appealing for adult gamers.
