Patches and scheduled downtime

I've not played any other Square Enix MMO so I wouldn't know, but are the folks who schedule their patch times complete morons? Joking, partially, but the patch times continue to be so frequent and worse yet at seemingly random times affecting any number of people based on whenever they choose to schedule that week.

This is a game marketed to a massive amount of people. At the very least, patch times should be standardized. Depending on what is actually being patched/fixed, patches should be shuffled together rather than having a patch every other day for something seemingly trivial.

Patches have come more than once a week, though not regularly. There should be a standard down time so at least players know what to expect. Outside of that, there should only be patches on a priorty basis, if a major game breaking bug is found.

If they set it at one specific time then one group of people would consistently be stopped from playing whenever they need maintenance (which is a lot) so they rotate it. Also as they rarely tell us what they are doing, there could very well be game breaking bugs, they just don't tell us about it.

That's logic based on information you do not have. I'd imagine that depending on the servers region, there is a very clear difference to when players actually login to play. They could use that information to select a time that typically sees the least amount of effect to players. This is, in fact, a game that is funded by players. The point of having region based servers is not simply to assist players so they have others who play at similar times, there are many other purposes including to better schedule patch times.

I'm sorry you have an issue losting a evening of play time. however, if they change maintance time to accomodate you, then I would have an issue. It work like that with world-wide games. Sorry for you, but like they say in my country, eat your soup, or jump the window

Reading is fundamental. Also, they dont need to patch every country at the same time. That's why there are regional servers.....


Ok, enough time wasted here. My point has been made, though that may still remain to be seen by others. Hopefully Square will take the issue seriously.

i readed. I understood. I posted. And you're dreaming. Do you really think shifting their maintance time would serve you something ? Don't you think someone else will have your same problem ? But the important it's you don't have to deal with it, right ?

How on earth could they get that information? Everyone has a different schedule. For example the next maintenance in my timezone will be from 6-10am. So sure, most people will be at school or work. But people who work nights or might have the day off will still be missing out.

No matter when they schedule the maintenance someone somewhere will be stopped from playing, you're only complaining because in this instance it happens to be you.

until now, patches came not more than once a week (except end september and mid october once)

Or do you mean maintenances, which don't have patches all the time?
And the last maintenance was last week. The next would be the first this week.

Although there is some consistency to a M-W schedule the fact it could be on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday make it somewhat inconsistent. They could say it will happen during 'a' day of the week that's just as consistent IMO.
