    And how would allowing unearned myth tomes from one week to be earned the next (again, up to the already existing 2000 tome cap) negatively affect this system? It wouldn't allow consistent players to earn any more tomes then they already have - it would only allow those who find themselves unable to play for a few weeks at a time (vacations, deployments, overtime, finals, etc.) to make up the lost time, given they didn't get too far behind and were willing to put in the compounded grind of all those weeks.

    If you'd take the time to read what the developers of the game explained, the current system is for balance purposes. Not only would they have to redo the coil system, you'd have people being able to spam for a day and get every myth, tome crafting material and relic+1 item for every class, then you'll also have the community aspect where if you chose not to grind a full day...good luck trying to do everything because even FCs would put that requirement on their members.

    Balance. Balance. Balance. We all want everything asap but MMOs usually phase out once that happens.

    That would be a system where all fresh 50's have the ability to quickly farm up 2000 Myths and burn through content...Exactly what the Dev team is trying to avoid.

    Although it's entirely an academic discussion, I'll bite.

    If you earned the 300 tomes a week from the time you started your sub, you'd be able to spam out i90 gear right as you hit 50. If it didn't start accumulating until you had a combat job at 50, and it didn't accumulate when you weren't subscribed, it wouldn't fundamentally alter gear accumulation but would not offer any advantage to those who play more often than those who do not, which is not generally how MMOs are designed.

    The developers feel that a week is a long enough period to allow for a few hours of playing. I don't see why consistent players shouldn't be rewarded versus those who cannot play for a few weeks at a time. Given the upcoming content that will allow you to spam out i80 gear I don't think keeping some gear exclusive to those who are actually playing the game is unreasonable.
