The problem isn't people's computers from the sound of this. The problem is the mechanic itself.

Having retarded circles of dooms show up on the ground that kill people if they don't react fast enough or don't have stellar computers and internet to avoid latency has no place in an MMORPG. It was mechanics like this that drove me away from WoW. And if this is a frequent issue on this game at the end it will drive me away from this game too.

The challenge of a boss fight in a MMO Role Playing game should be how well you have invested into your character and perform your role in combat. Defining a fight's challenge by how good you are at watching the floor or how fast your computer is - that's just poor game design and I don't blame people for quitting over it. Companies need to stop trying to make their RPG's half-assed action games. They don't have the servers or the audience for it. There are far far better action games out there, and no one who is interested in that kind of gameplay is going to pick up Final Fantasy 14 so they can get the thrill of running out of stupid circles on the ground. So please stop these lazy and poorly implemented gimmicks to try and add challenge to your fights. Get back to what MMORPGs are actually suppose to be about, and that is strategic multi-player combat.

A huge statement that I can't agree with more. RPGs were turned based decision making games. Adding real time to them was cool and added a certain level of intensity that I enjoy. But you are correct. RPGs shouldn't be heavily affected by reaction time which in-turn directly relates to PC performance as displayed. Us "ole-fogies" wana play too, and we can't keep up with the youngins anymore. Relaxed intelligence should still win!
