If your PC is so slow that it's stops you from being able to perform basic maneuvers in the game then you should either upgrade or not play. Period.

A display of video lag due to lack of PC performance.

I post this due to the increasing toxicity we see in the game aimed at player skill. Consider that players may not have serious money invested in their PC, this doesn't make them retarded or stupid or any of the other colorful terms we see every time someone is hit by "Weight of the Land".

The real problem is I have a high end gaming pc and it isn't that much different. My room to move is faster than yours but not by much. If there's so much of a .5 second hesitation I get hit. Even with a really really good pc. Honestly how you're playing is pretty much what people need to do in titan regardless of pc level. Learn the rotations and begin to act in advance rather than after. The delay effects everyone. Maybe not to the exact degree but titan really shows everyone that it's there. The delay is something I'd like to see fixed.

Seems you get hit even if you don't have that .5 second delay in reacting. Even if you react instantly if it's under you it's under you but as mentioned. The delay here is the problem. More so than lag or low end pc's. Glad you posted this video hopefully SE can look at it.

Agree with this. I have a high end pc and if I run from the plumes right when they spawn I can sometimes make it out. I just do what Jonny does to assure that I get out.

Yes unfortunately I don't believe there is a fix for it. Ping can not be erased which is what players with a high end PC experience. Video lag is an addition to ping which is what players with a lower end PC experience.

Truth is if you want a game with good graphics then you have to deal with these things. My PC does need an upgrade as Vivik mentions. But I do deserve to play in the meantime and I will surely upgrade the moment that is a real life option.

Lag has not stopped me from completing any content I've tried. It simply puts me in a position to have to work a little harder for some things.

Of course I see it! ... A split second too late, on occasion not at all.

The other unfortunate here is players use "Lag" as an excuse for absolutely everything... So when it really is "lag" some of us that lack humanity immediately toss that idea and feel the need to degrade someone.

Agreed. Another example along those lines was in AK. I had a tank that everyone was bashing. Was saying was terrible etc. He stated he was lagging. They said "No you need to learn to play." Then I pointed out "Tank isn't lying. I saw the disconnect symbol 4 times." Someone else confirmed that they did as well. He begged everyone to wait while he tried some things to fix his connection. He succeeded and the run was smooth after that. Point is, sometimes it really is lag/latency.

There was an issue with Lag yesterday. Turn 4 was terrible for me. I couldn't get hate on anything because it would spawn too late on my screen. I Disconnected once, wiping the party. I have a high end PC so it wasn't on my end. It was purely a server problem because my ping is a whopping 70-90.

If it was this bad with ME, I can't even imagine how bad it is for people in even less favorable circumstances!

The requirements are there for a reason, but as I can see, OP has an "adequate" PC. If he shouldn't be playing with his config, then the minimum requirements must be changed.

My PC does meet the minimum requirements. The game should playable on my end, and it is.

My PC does not meet the recommended spec. I shouldn't expect optimal performance... and I don't.

I don't think the problem is on SE's end or anything needs to be changed for that matter.

I don't know what that Titan fight video is supposed to prove. Whenever you got hit by weight you were clearly late to the dodge, but overall, you were dodging fine weren't you. The problem with blaming lag for dying is that people think it makes some kinda difference. It does not matter if you die in the fight because of lag, or because of unskillful play. When you're dead, you're dead all the same and not pulling your weight.

It does not mean someone is an idiot or a retard, however, it's just means they aren't useful in the fight. At least you can improve your skill but if you blame lag... there's usually little you can do to improve that in any reasonable time frame if router/client reset doesn't solve it.

What you don't see is the moment I push the button vs. the moment my character starts to move. Watching the entire video with the downtime included does at some point display the response time between:

-The time I push a button.
-The time you hear the sound effect.
-The time what is supposed to be displayed is actually displayed.

@Tokochan: I also have trouble on healer jobs... either that or I struggle enough with my own life, which makes me concerned about being responsible for others. Actually truth... I'm just bad at healer jobs :P but hey; know your limits right?

Yes among friends who understand my situation I struggle much less with content. My buddies know that when it's time for weight of the land I'm always going to run east pre-emptively and that is not a suggested escape route for them; my moving early creates a trap in that direction.

I run on the lowest graphics and get around 10-15 fps on a good day.. It's awful getting out of aoe -_- but I know what I can and can't do.. I'm not a whitemage anymore (was fine up until stone vigil, just couldn't stay alive) and I don't do dungeons that are full of aoe in df, only with my LS because they don't get mad at me :P
Until I can afford a better pc (and mines not half bad..) I'd rather play knowing my limitations than not playing at all because me not dodging aoe makes people mad.
Normally if it's that bad I let people know it may be an issue ahead of time ^_^ most people don't seem to mind.
