Example: Don't invite me. You can tell right off the bat from the party invite screen what Job I have and what weapon I have equipped before you even see me. Don't like my combo don't invite me. I'm never forcing you to party with me.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
No argument there. In your party, you rule the roost. Clearly.
Dubont: "Dis iz ma party. Iz donz allowz no gimpz!"
Cairdeas: "But I wanna be a Princess Astronaut Rock Star!"
Dubont: "Yooz a gimp. Gets the hellz out!"
<boot from party>
That is totally OK. However the case, extending your philoshophy of what is gimp and what isn't gimp outside your party across all of Eorzea, and having game code enforce that philosophy is ... somewhat harsh.
Ideally that is what I would want but it goes against the whole idea of the Armoury System unless they make the current classes separate from there weapons, which would then turn them into jobs really.I could have sworn Yoshi said a few letters back that they are re-doing how weapons are assigned to classes, to make it more diverse(More like how FFXI weapon selection works), to go along side the changes being implemented with the battle and class to job upgrades.
This is were a lot of us are missing the point. A lot of you think the weapon assignments are going to remain the same, but I really think Yoshi is gong too put it back to how FFXI had it. As in, what ever Job/Class the weapon says can use it, can use it.
eg. There will be a weapons that will read:
Holy sword Job/classes that can equip: Gld, War, Wht, Pld.
Elm staff Job/classes that can equip: Wht, Monk, Blk mage, Shepard.
You see where I am going with this? Weapons will have more diversity as too whom can wield them.
-Equipping your weapon will no longer set you to a Class/Job. Selecting the Class/Job(from your drop down), will Now set you to your class/job.
People need to start forgetting the game/battle mechanics they are playing now. As it's drastically going too change soon.
Start recording memories.

with the new job system, we won't be able to see any of that =) You also don't invite people. people join. You haven't played 14 much have you?
Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing

Jobs will define your skill sets. You wont be able to use cross-class skills that your current job are not able to use.
A White Mage wont be using Nukes. And if it says I'm a Gladiator you know I'm wielding a Sword. If I get invited to your party and you don't like my equipment when I arrive. Ask me to change. If I refuse and you still don't like it, boot me.
Right now though Equipment really does nothing but change how you look. 1-10 points in STR gives no bonus to damage at cap.
