I am still holding out that they change the leve problem. I'm sick of seeing everyone abandon the leves and re-doing them. Granted, it doesn't directly affect me, but it kinda doesn't feel heroic.

IMO, the leve should disappear from the journal when it is completed/failed/abandoned/etc. If the local leves operate as such, then there's no reason they can't get away with it for regional. Random D/C's are not common enough during a leve set run to really make this much of an issue.

Sometimes I wonder if you think before you speak (or rather type). Somehow, I doubt they "made it that way" for the purpose of failing for the same good ones over and over again. What would be the point of making so many leves if you just try to save the same ones over and over again? Whats the purpose of doing leves in other cities then? What even have adventurer guilds in Grid and LL? Your short-sightedness in breathtaking.

Fantastic, you can level up twice as fast by doing the same leves over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Thats a fantastic recipe for a great game and again really makes the other cities have a lot of purpose behind them. Oh wait, 99% of every servers populace stays in ul Dah - never mind.

Oh wow, you lose gil? I never realized that! And items too?! Oh wait, its so easy to make money in the game and their is so much floating around that it means NOTHING to my tens of millions if I was to lose 20k here or there. Again, gimlet-eyed insight on your part!

Leveling faster? They worked out well for the game didn't? I mean, you can skip the 30s now and level through the 40s in a week if you go crazy. So, when all those people reached 50 - what did they do? Many quickly realized there was nothing to do in the game and buggered off. Great formula again for longevity in the game. Do the same handful of leves daily, level twice as fast and have nothing to do while making sure most of the populace stays in ul Dah cause thats where the bets leves are.

    Brilliant analyses, Zen.

So positioning will positioning no longer matter in combat? Auto attack in a game with no editive layer for animations means that we will be stuck in place the whole battle.

I still have no idea how the combat system will play.
1: Auto Attack is being implemented because as a social game it's hard to be social when all activities in the game require constant battle input. Battles will be moving to a more tactical aproach and being reactive than being just active.

2: Positioning may still play a roll in not only emnity gain "frontal attacks gain more emnity?" but just because we currently don't have the abillity to move while attacking does not mean it will not be implemented with animations to boot.

3: Nobody does, the update wasn't meant to give you a picture book with instructions, but to give you some information on what they are working on.

Yes, there is also the cheesy factor I didn't touch upon and rewarding failure, no matter how benign its is, is ridiculous.

I really like everything that was in the battle reform blueprint, no complaints at all.

Hopefully the jobs won’t be pigeonholed into using one specific weapon like the classes.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

No they are not. The blueprints specifically says they are NOT advanced classes, they are Role Specializations. IE Paladin is Tank, White Mage is Healer.

Rather than being advanced versions of classes, we would like players to think of jobs as specialized playing styles optimized for partying.

Yeah but as an extension I doubt they will be able to use anything other than the class that it branches from weapon. Unless they make specific gear for the new jobs as well. Who knows! Maybe they will use the class's equipment + new job specific junk.

    Lets say Marauder becomes.

    Dark-knight
    Or
    Warior

Both jobs can use the Great axes, but Dark knights can also use Scyths, and Wariors can use Great swords.
