Sorry, but battle input can be given without adding Auto-Attack. They could remap the chat mode so that it doesn't affect the keypad (movement) and the number keys (actions). Then there is the option of VoIP, AA is a cheap cop-out, nothing more.1: Auto Attack is being implemented because as a social game it's hard to be social when all activities in the game require constant battle input. Battles will be moving to a more tactical aproach and being reactive than being just active.
2: Positioning may still play a roll in not only emnity gain "frontal attacks gain more emnity?" but just because we currently don't have the abillity to move while attacking does not mean it will not be implemented with animations to boot.
3: Nobody does, the update wasn't meant to give you a picture book with instructions, but to give you some information on what they are working on.
Remaping the keys would do nothing to combat that between every 3 letters typed you are mashing 1-1-1-1 AA is not a "Cheap cop-out" just because you feel mashing your fist into your keyboard somehow makes the game more "Active" you are fooling yourself.
AA has it's issues as well though, personally I find them far less anoying than manual attack. Main issue being the abillity to stop attacking on a dime in situations such as reactive mob skills or crowd control situations. Speeding response time to go into passive mode would fix this for the most part.
AA and Manual attack have there ups and downs, the population is leaning towards Auto Attack and so it shall be. Don't cry and call it a "Cop-out" just because you don't like it.

I hate to bring up TERA again, but TERA's system is really the only way I can imagine auto-attack not being completely warrented in an MMO.Remaping the keys would do nothing to combat that between every 3 letters typed you are mashing 1-1-1-1 AA is not a "Cheap cop-out" just because you feel mashing your fist into your keyboard somehow makes the game more "Active" you are fooling yourself.

At first I figured the jobs wouldn't be in 1.18 but after thinking it over I would venture to say that we will see them in 1.18 if only for the fact that the dev made it clear that the jobs were focused more for party play in the new dungeons and not so much for solo play.
Either way, I'm pretty amped about the details given and can't wait for the next patch.
Also I wonder if these new jobs will finally unlock the dual-wielding capabilities of the Gladiator...
I sure hope so.

Looks like a lot of good things to come, I suppose its impossible to get a date on when things are to be implemented but the fact there is so much coming down the chute is very heartening for me. I am very happy they're taking (or seeming to) tactics avenue to leveling classes for the sake of others. It will promote longevity in the game - in particular if they slow down the absurdly easy ways to level in the game.
The only thing(s) (for me now) I'd like them to address is the exploit of failing leves to save super sweet ones for stupid fast leveling and the fact that leves are the focus of the games leveling design. Also, maybe addressing the issue that Ul Dah does have the best leves thus pigeon-holing the populace there and basically making the other cities redundant (my poor beloved Gridania).
All in all I am happy with whats to come.

That not a exploit lol they made it like that why in hell would you not want this? i can level up x2 faster by saving the good onces and not doing the rest. Btw failing your leves all it does is you lose Money,Gil,item so if the player want to do that let them you making gil and there notl ol.Looks like a lot of good things to come, I suppose its impossible to get a date on when things are to be implemented but the fact there is so much coming down the chute is very heartening for me. its cheesy to be rewarded for failure, and doing the same leves everytime gets boring. There are actually a lot of people who have no idea what any of the non ul dah leves areThat not a exploit lol they made it like that why in hell would you not want this? i can level up x2 faster by saving the good onces and not doing the rest. Yes, there is also the cheesy factor I didn't touch upon and rewarding failure, no matter how benign its is, is ridiculous.
Sometimes I wonder if you think before you speak (or rather type). Somehow, I doubt they "made it that way" for the purpose of failing for the same good ones over and over again. What would be the point of making so many leves if you just try to save the same ones over and over again? Whats the purpose of doing leves in other cities then? What even have adventurer guilds in Grid and LL? Your short-sightedness in breathtaking. That not a exploit lol they made it like that why in hell would you not want this? i can level up x2 faster by saving the good onces and not doing the rest. Fantastic, you can level up twice as fast by doing the same leves over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Thats a fantastic recipe for a great game and again really makes the other cities have a lot of purpose behind them. Oh wait, 99% of every servers populace stays in ul Dah - never mind.
Oh wow, you lose gil? I never realized that! And items too?! Oh wait, its so easy to make money in the game and their is so much floating around that it means NOTHING to my tens of millions if I was to lose 20k here or there. Again, gimlet-eyed insight on your part!
Leveling faster? They worked out well for the game didn't? I mean, you can skip the 30s now and level through the 40s in a week if you go crazy. So, when all those people reached 50 - what did they do? Many quickly realized there was nothing to do in the game and buggered off. Great formula again for longevity in the game. Do the same handful of leves daily, level twice as fast and have nothing to do while making sure most of the populace stays in ul Dah cause thats where the bets leves are.
Brilliant analyses, Zen.
