Vackashken, please read over Caideas' posts, and answer the question; what exactly is it about the AH is so potentially attractive over having a MW? And no, 'faster' is not an answer, 'more convenient' is also not an answer as those can be addressed towards the MW. If you are purposely ignoring those posts which nail down this whole argument, then there is no point in continuing to flame and be-riddle others, is there?

I'm sorry what? The argument is nailed down because someone disagrees that it is or isn't faster?

The unequivocal fact, in the sense of time, is AH are faster and more convenient. People can try and splice this any way they want but me coming up to a window, doing a search and that item sliding into my inventory will always be faster then doing a search, teleporting to wherever the item is and then having to teleport out. I don't have to drone on about it because its just that simple. I don't, like I would imagine so many others, want to wade through a choked room full of standing loot bags to get what I want.

Aside from the absurdity above, its yet another gimlet-eyed example of SE not learn anything about what works and what doesn't in their own game, never mind any other working titles. Yet again the game shines with their own unintended consequences in the form of not having linked auction houses, the player populace is once again pigeonholed into Ul Dah. If you want to buy anything - where do you have to go for the most part? Thats right, Ul Dah causing their other cities and areas to become that much more defunct.

The unintended consequence from the debacle that is the Market Wards still resonates to this day. Sorry, whatever ornamental words people come up with to try and defend this terrible system cannot change it. Well, perhaps in your rose-tinted perception but not in the inferior mechanics of it all.

As for not responding to this mess with anything other then jest, what can I say? The argument of the comparison is so simplistic it's like people are trying to debate something equally as thought provoking as "Do we really need air to breath?" or "do we need food to live!?"

    Give me a break.

Please re-read all the stuff you haven't read.

    1. Auction House is only an Auction House if it has Blind or Timed Bidding.
    2. All Time based Conveniences that the Market Wards lack that "Auction Houses" have can be implemented into the Market Wards without ever mentioning or using an Auction or Auction House.
    3. One of the Benefits of an Market Ward over an Auction House is Impulse Buying. Most people do not impulse buy on Auction Houses, they find what they want and leave. With the ward system you can potentially introduce characters to new items they didn't know about or knew about and would want but never considered buying at the time. Or sell things in sets so that when a person searches for one part of the set they can find and buy the other parts directly from you. This is not something you can do with an AH. Each item has to be searched for individually.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
