As with Papalymo and Y'shtola, they all seem to know of the echo and the significance of the starshower, but are completely unaware that it has sounded as such.

Random question just to see how you interpret it:

If Papalymo is knowledgeable about but does not possess the Echo (or possibly even know that it has sounded), where did he become versed in Mooglespeak?

We make efforts to learn mooglespeak, but our control of the language is rudimentary at best. Without the conjurers, this endeavor would be completely hopeless. I know not of such things, but there are some that can use mooglespeak, whether through divine providence or study. And not all of them are forestborn.

Do we take it for granted that he studied in Sharlayan unaware that it would ever be of use and move on? They definitely didn't foresee needing at, as Yda can't even tell Gridania from the afterlife.

Just for fun, I'm going to pull up all in-game visuals of the star-shower and triangulate its position based on player vantage point.
