Will SLI/Crossfire work in ARR?

現在は、AMD社、NVIDIA社と調整を行っており、正式サービスイン時には対応できる予定です。

I like to read Fernehalwes post for example, he's very good, he should write dialogues instead of translate and adapt them.

I've read that he/she's been given some creative control in the past, but yeah, normally the localization team for the languages other than Japanese are at the mercy of what was originally written in Japanese and can't deviate from that much.

Name plate options in ARR to show just first name and stuff.

ネームプレートも、ファーストネームだけ表示とか実は地味にそういうのが欲しかったり…
For name plates, I kind of want option to just display the first name...

これまで検討を続けてきましたが、新生FFXIVでは、
コンフィグから「姓名の両方を表示」や「姓または名のみの表示」など、自由に変更が行えるようになる予定です。
We have been looking into this until now. In FFXIV ARR through configuration you would be able to freely change from displaying full name or just first name.

This one is response to JP thread about spectator mode.
JP thread doesn't go into specifics like the NA thread did so we may hear more from NA rep on the NA thread. I just read below and was like, hold on a sec, NA side had ways to work around this... so I translated the NA post and posted in there below Foxclon's post.

コロセウムでイベントを実施した際には、参加者以外のプレイヤーが第三者視点などで見学できるような機能は検討していますが、レイドなどのバトルコンテンツに関しては現時点では考えていません。
When we release the coloseum event, we are looking into 3rd party, spectator mode where they can view the fight. But as for the raids and other battle contents, we don't have any plans currently.

その理由としては、動画やスクリーンショットを勝手に撮影されてしまいトラブルに発展する可能性や、そもそも他のプレイヤーに自分のプレイを見られたくないという方もいらっしゃるであろうということを配慮しているためです。
The reason being that if someone takes movies or screenshots it could possibly lead to some trouble, also other players may not want to be watched.

In ARR you won't be able to see 1.x opening.

旧FFXIVのオープニングムービーはもう観ることは出来ませんか？
Is it possible to watch the 1.x FFXIV opening movie?

新生FFXIVと旧FFXIVでは、世界観が大きく変化しています。
そのため、両方のムービーが存在していると、ご覧になった方が困惑してしまう可能性があるため、
現時点では新生FFXIVのみ公開としています。
The world view from ARR FFXIV and 1.x FFXIV varies greatly.
For that reason if both movies existed and someone watches it, it may cause some confusion so right now we are only showing the ARR FFXIV one.

今後もし何かの機会がある場合にはキッチリお知らせしますね。

Why hide your subniture Rein?

Bassbar on JP thread asked in beta test phase 3 when we use our existing character if we can level them. Say you got Lv40, Lv50 classes and Lv15 class, what will happen in beta?

現行FFXIVのキャラクターのレベルが35よりも高い場合は、そのレベルでのご参加となり、
どのレベルであってもそこからレベルが上昇することはありません。
If you existing character for 1.x FFXIV is higher than Lv35 then it won't go any higher (during beta of course).

また、引き継いだキャラクターのレベルが35よりも下の場合(1～34)は、レベル35まで上昇させることが可能です。
Also if the character had classes below 35 (1~34), then it is possible to raise up until Lv35.

Why hide your subniture Rein?

Got lots of JP not liking me using it on JP forums.. too lazy to go to advanced and clicking hide my signature every time. I'll replace it with something smaller or something
