I keep seeing this issue of people saying they don't want SSM in FFXIV:ARR with their reasons based from their p.o.v IRL. Then we have the people saying 'keep your RL views out of this in game discussion blah blah'.

Sorry, but in order to have a constructive and coherent discussion, we for all intents and purpose have to use information outside of this game to try and get a clear reason why these people object to it.

If it means informing them, then so be it.

I'd really like to see a good reason why they don't want SSM in ARR. All I am seeing is 'AMG ITZ IMMORALLLL'. Killing is immoral too, are you going to stop that in ARR?

But as it goes, I haven't seen one remotely good reason as to why there shouldn't be SSM in ARR.. I don't think a good reason actually exists.. I don't think I've seen more than one.. sort of.. reason.

I dunno it's kind of like dealing with racists or something. Like back in the 50s when racism was far worse but people smartened up over time and equality came into play, and now many people look back on those times like "boy those people sure were assholes". We're entering that time with marriage equality, and 20 years from now things will be even more different. They'll be looking back at us like "boy they sure were assholes".

It's not a matter of what anyone's silly little holy book says, or what their father says, or what their employer says, it's what's common sense says and what's better for people in general. It's a human right to allow it. Hell, we're facing a really bad population problem in the world right now. I almost wish 70% of the population would just magically turn gay to actually give some hope to the world lol. Look what's in your heart.

I'm straight and i can say that health issue is a two way street my friend and it only view as shameless if your religious person. I don't follow what a book tell me what i should or not do and i also don't care if it's ban where i live people should be allow to love who they want that my view.

But i understand your views and i get where you coming from if it disgust you so much then it better if you just don't read this topic anymore. your vote is taken into account if there a real poll you can view your point there also if it make you feel any better i don't see it happening just for the fact all the issue is happening here.

Nah. I'll tell you a secret (shhh don't tell anyone though we don't want everyone getting smart): guys can give and receive sexual diseases to and from girls too. SHHHH keep it down. I know it's shocking. But that's not all. It's just as common (if not more common) than the spread of disease through homosexual behaviour.

What you call shameless is what I call normal. But what's the definition of normal, exactly? Not everyone is going to be alike, whether in relationships or personality or favorite foods. But that's what makes us unique.

By thinking the way you do, you are NOT being open-minded to other people, their cultures and their habits. You don't have to LIKE what someone else does, just as you don't have to LIKE vegetables on your dinner plate. But you ACCEPT and you TOLERATE that hey, my friend/sister/cousin loves vegetables on their dinner plate!

I don't live in a place which allows same-sex marriage :3 . Also, we were created a male & female for a reason so try to use your mind please, thats about real life, for this game i see friendship or whatever close to it... is good enough .

I'm sorry, it seems you don't understand how these things work. We appreciate that you posted your opinion, but until you can actually provide details that can be discussed besides how you feel or what you think, there's nothing anyone can do.

I'd just like to remind you that no matter what they call it in game, we will be getting married. We'll be in a union together. We'll be recognised as a COUPLE. A romantic couple.

How about:

As I said, it's all about the Japanese and Japan itself to change that, IF they change SE will change that other than that people should just forget about it SSM in-game.
