I was trying to say it was an error on my part to group the words together like I did, because my intended meaning was not as such.

You're still out for blood. Cut it out.

Telling someone else it's their fault for not asking YOU what you meant is not the same as admitting you made an error.

Basically what you said and your response to this post was the equivalent of "I'm sorry you took it that way." That's not an apology, it's blaming the person who took something exactly the way you phrased it as what you meant.
