    well you do know that FFXI was designed like Everquest?

    But anyways... i think FFXIV is its own game.. it does not look any WoWish at all, therefore the walking animations etc. are far superior still in contrast to that (even without extra tip taps).
    its a game on his own.. limit break etc... nothing that other MMorpgs have.. i dont understand people saying SE isnt doing their "own stuff" right now.



    This has nothing to do with animations..why do people fail to grasp this? XIII and XIII-2 uses the same engine, those games were far from laggy. SE stated over and over, it's not the animations or graphics that made XIV 1.0 laggy and unresponsive, it was the core systems on an engine not designed for MMORPGs.
    its about the unfluent gameplay.. as yoshida stated these "extra tip taps" need about 1-2 seconds while in that time you cant perform any action. thats why they removed it. it would mostly be disturbing in pvp and boss battles . and i personally prefer a game to be fun, rather than complaining about 1-2 tip taps. just wait and see how it feels.

    seriously you people cant let 1.0. go.

    and if you ask me there are much more and important points that have to be changed.. they need to implement wandering npc's within the cities to be more lively.. and not these "tip taps". thats flaming on the highest (or silliest?) level.

    you should really listen to yourself what you are talking about... complaining about "extra tip taps".


    that can just happen in a FFXIV 1.0. forum

    not even fking close. it was built upon Everquests already established Core simply because of Everquest successfully being run on the PS2 at the time. the actual game couldn't have been farther from everquest.

    No I didn't know this despite Tanaka specifically stating FFXI was inspired by Everquest and designed around FFIII.

    It sounds more like YOU can't let 1.0 go, because YOU are the one who is having issues here, not anyone else showing concern.

    As Yoshida stated, the animations and graphics weren't causing the game to be laggy. As Tanaka stated, the engine wasn't suited for XIV and they made a mistake in using it. The "extra tip-taps" works fine in every other game on the planet because the game is on an engine that is designed to be efficient for that type of code. The Crystal Tools engine is a cinematic engine primarily for seamless transitions into gameplay from cutscenes, XIII is the perfect example of this.

    Contradiction #1. Adding Lively NPCs requires more specific animations and script calls to them than a player does for "tip taps" as you put it.

    it would mostly be disturbing in pvp and boss battles
    They removed certain animations for PvP reasons as they said straight out. They made a lot of changes for PvP.
