Raid boss Drop question on translation

It's silly you can't get the actual drops with the totems but something similar and less good. When you're doing the content to get certain drop, say DL boots, you don't settle for less, so totems are completely useless.

Why not just let us buy the good stuff with the totems? Just have them require enough runs so that people won't get the drops too fast - say 100 runs for a body piece. I would say a person has earned their drop after successfully clearing the instance 100 times.
