LOL. Funny, you must have a very selective reading, because every single thread, this one included, both on this forum and on the Japanese one, always had a crushing majority against regional servers.

The JP threads I've looked over have suggested otherwise. A lot of JP are very happy about it.

The only thread I've seen on the English forums specifically asking for a yes/no opinion on regional data centers:

I haven't seen any thread with the question asked in an unbiased manner where there was a "crushing majority" of no votes. Feel free to link me a poll showing something to the contrary.

Yes, you could say that. I'm unhappy that people are making a stink about this when it's usually what players prefer in most games. It's a simple fact that complaints are one of the most common things that bring a person to a forum. I know from experience as a moderator on several forums.

Of course, the fact that that's all you could say in response to my post says a lot...

LOL at using the likes as a statistical tool. Even more so when made when the 99% of the game's original playerbase (that bought the game on the premise of a global community) is gone and doesn't have a way to log into the forums, or simply doesn't read the forums anymore because of the seething negativity that permeates them. If you think 300 people have any statistical value compared to the whole population of a MMO, sorry, can't help but laugh.

It's the only real way to poll users on this board, not that I like it any more than you do (I don't). But at the moment, it's all we have. Only SE staff can make actual poll threads on these boards right now.

I have seen no such threads. People who are happy generally don't post say "I'm happy about this!" very often. Thus, you only get the complainers.

Polls have a much lower level of bias (as long as they're worded from a neutral point of view) than a discussion thread with people raging one way or the other. So, you LOL at a like poll, I LOL at scanning through a thread to say "everybody hates this."

Biased analyses of discussion threads are no better a statistical tool than like polls.

I'm still waiting for an argument to get demolished. No company likes wasting money- I don't care if the costs are just a "footnote," from you or me income perspective, it's still a lot of money and no person or company likes blowing money.

SE has a very easy tool to determine where the majority lies. A global survey like they did twice at the beginning of the game, open to everyone that purchased it (and as such has a right to play the first month of ARR).

A few hundred thousands voters have a little more statistical value than 300 leftovers. Even if I'm sure those that cry for regional servers would cringe as the idea, because they know very well they'd be crushed.

Funny, because basically all of them have been, like the completely unrealistic and oversimplified one about persuading friends to join your server, or the one about the supposedly enormous (lol, not really) hosting costs, to which you very conveniently stopped responding.

You don't provide any citations either. And like polls may not be the best method, but until someone links me to something more concrete, like an unbiased-written poll on some other website or something, they don't have any more leg to stand on than you claim I do.
