    Nah. A lot of these classes have overlap, and we're neglecting the confirmation that classes will have multiple jobs.

    It's just as possible for Gladiator to retain daggers, and be able to dual-weild them for thief, or that dual-daggers becomes its own equip-able weapon for Pugilist, that then can switch to thief with the use of them.

    Ranger screams Archer, and given the fact that Crossbows have not come out as of yet, that can become an alternative weapon only available to the Archer/Ranger combination.

    My spectulation for ideas has developed with information they've hinted at, like Gladiator having a new weapon accessable like Great Sword. This would make me speculate that Gladiator would, by equipping Greatsword, gain a new set of Class Weapon Skills, based off the weapon they have, which then branches off into the new jobs available.

    Here's some of my spectulations.

    Gladiator:
    Sword and Shield = Paladin
    Greatsword = Dark Knight.

    Pugilist
    Knuckles = Monk
    Dual Daggers = Thief

    Lancer
    2-Handed spear = Dragoon
    1 Handed Spear and Shield = Templar

    Archer
    Bow = Bard
    Crossbow = Ranger

    Conjurer
    Wands & Staves = White Mage
    Batons or Whips= Summoner

    Thaumaturge
    Wands and Staves = Black Mage
    Bells or Tomes= Geomancer (Scholar perhaps?)

    Marauder
    Great Axe = Warrior
    Dual Axes = Beastmaster

    Archanist and Musketeer can be a bit tricky as we don't know what their main weapons will be like. But Red Mage, Blue Mage, Time Mage, Oracle, Corsair, Mechanist and Gun Mage are all on the table.
    There is nothing specifically wrong with your specualtion. I even like the weapon choices. However, I cant get on board with this idea of having multiple jobs share one class. How can 5 abilities show any kind of reasonable difference between say PLD and DRK. I'm also not saying you are wrong. But if this is the direction they take then to me its lazy and worthless on the devs part. I'm not sure if it would be a deal breaker, but it would make me re-examine playing this game post 2.0 if my thief (fav job) has to share a class with pugilist instead of having Rogue (class)/Thief (Job) or some such. If its a budget issue, then I can live without having new jobs til they can make new classes to go with them.

    Side note: Id be Ok with something like Thief (class)/Ninja (Job) however, because they go together well and often overlap eachother in the FF series.
