I'm not againt open world content in a casual form, such as Giant buffalo, Mosshorn, lvl 30 NM's and stronghold bosses, but when it becomes that open world bosses drop the best of the best in slot then yea I have an issue with that.
I agree with what Velhert said, allowing content to be instanced gives everyone the chance at that content.
Highlighted ..If there's plenty of things in the game for you to do, that's readily available inside an instance, why do you care that there's also a few open world HNMs for the "elitist a-holes" to battle each other over?
If it's not your cup of tea, it's not your cup of tea. You don't need to do it. Why shouldn't all types of gamers be given what they want?
Indeed why ? probably because those elitist A-holes are a small group, why would you make content for them ?
If you want something difficult go get a relic, fight Ifrit extreme, if you want to go hunt an open world NM go find Dodore or Haughtpox Bloatbelly. (I'm sure there will be more down the road in 2.0, Odin and other primals for example)
Yea im not getting into the reason why people don't like it, its been disccussed to death on here. What's the difference, ultimately, between an open world HNM that someone's mediocre and unorganized linkshell can't claim and an instanced boss fight that someone's mediocre and unorganized linkshell can't kill?
In the very least they'll be able to watch something pretty cool without having to go to youtube to do it.
I'll never understand the irrational hatred of open world HNMs. They provided for me and hundreds of thousands of others the best memories of their previous MMOs.
Go get a relic and stand in town then ?? !I think in the end it just comes down to people bent that someone will be standing in town wearing something nifty they won't be able to get... which will be the case anyway, open world or not.
This is exactly it, people want to look and feel all superior to others when they claim an NM and passers by look on in awe, or maybe they want to grief other LS's from getting the claim first or just want to stand by and goad each other.
It's all pretty childish stuff IMO.
