What's the point of exploring the unknown if you know you will be 100% safe? That is unappealing.I love how nobody pointed out how easy it is for new players to die in this game considering there are random high level aggro mobs wandering around low level areas *COUGHCOUGH Level 30 Buzzards between Bearded Rock and Bloodshore*
Not only does it discourage exploration but it would also make EXP loss on death pretty unappealing.
The only thing it would discourage is stupidity, and blindness. Those aggro mobs are very easy to avoid.
Or, you know, punish people for disconnects. It doesn't work anymore, just drop it. Why are you intent on ruining the game for people who don't want to play like you?
If you disconnect, it's entirely your fault for having a bad connection.
I don't see how my idea would ruin the game. It did work for FFXI, no? That game is still alive, has an expansion coming out and I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that it has a bigger active playerbase than FFXIV.
Why should I be punished for the best internet connection I can even get having monkeys for techs? My internet has been messed up so bad by the techs that starting up XIV would crash the entire internet at my house.
Also, what about those with satellite where a cloud in the sky can disconnect you? Oh! And let's not forget lag, or framerate dips when the action gets to be too much for those who don't have the money for a really good computer.
And yes, there are places where your only choices are dial-up and satellite internet.
Oh, let's not forget about crashes. Is it our fault for playing a game with poor coding too?
Yes, it does have an expansion. And probably the only reason it has more subs is the fact it has more content than XIV at the moment.

Rise Against - TorchesThe angels dance like feathers float, they're here to see and to be seen,
The clock strikes two, the music slows and each one slowly dons their wings,
Once outside they all pair off and hand in hand they leave
But I'm still waiting, yeah, and I'm still waiting
Well I don't see how your house Internet problem has anything to do with SquareEnix or FFXIV.Why should I be punished for the best internet connection I can even get having monkeys for techs? If you only have the option of satellite or dial-up, then it's not SE's fault that they live in a third world country. They should move to another country with better Internet.
I live in America. I use broadband, just the techs are hit and miss. They messed up my internet to that point just by opening up ports.
Also, there are places HERE IN AMERICA that only have satellite and dial up.

This post is a red flag, stop taking this guy seriously.
This thread is a cake of stupid and that comment is the cherry on top.
