    Bring back deleveling in 2.0

One of the best features of FFXI is not present right now in FFXIV.
Deleveling was a necessary element as the game doesn't punish you enough for dying in FFXIV.
Oh look, your gear condition has lowered by 10%! And you have to return to a home point. Is this supposed to be scary? NO.
I want to feel terrified of dying. I want to **** my pants every time I enter a dungeon or face a threatening enemy. This game NEEDS the element of constant fear.
Stop cattering to the casual market, and please try to bring back hardcore elements from the old FFXI days.

Please bring back deleveling for 2.0!!!

It doesn't work in the modern marketplace. The market is more casual-driven and the model of "futility = fun" and punishing concepts will no longer fly.

It doesn't mean that the mechanic is bad - some people don't mind it while others do. But, moving forward, this is not something that will work.

This. Sorry OP we grew up and don't have time to "suffer' in games like we did back when we were 15 and had nothing to do all day.

    Hey amy!
Coming from someone who has never even played FFXI, or doesn't play near 24/7 like I do.

    And this is relevant.... how?
I just find it funny someone who gets PL'd is calling for "hardcore" game mechanics.

You don't need to add things from other games to make the game cater to the hardcore players. I've leveled all my jobs to 50 and I'd like to keep them there. At 50.

Depends on your definition of hardcore.
Someone who plays all day, every day?
Someone who takes every advantage of the game including shortcuts to get to endgame asap?
Someone who has all jobs to 50?
Or maybe someone who wants more hardcore features such as deleveling?

Leveling in FFXIV is empty and shallow. You can do it all solo, unlike the forced parties that you had to join/make in FFXI. I'd skip the boring part so I can get to the good part; endgame.

Coming from someone who Powerlevels, this is meaningless. I know plenty of people, myself included who enjoyed the journey and I am helping quite a few people on their own journey and they are enjoying it.
And there is where you draw the line between FFXIV and FFXI. In XIV you have options, in XI you don't. I like it how it is, the devs like it how it is, most people like it how it is. Open to your own playstyle.
Who's to say that the end game is the bad part? I've become intensely bored with end game to the point that I only really do it if someone needs an extra person. It's all point of view and also, you're not arguing for your point here. Why would you add deleveling if leveling is shallow in the first place?

Also, to your earlier insinuation that I don't play as much as you do, you really should do some fact checking.

Wouldn't people just PL right back up again though? In which case, I fail to see the point. Or are we talking about some point in the future when PL isn't possible?

If you die in the game you die in real life.

    That's hardcore.
