I'm going to be level 50 the second 2.0 goes live, WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!

That was incredibly alarming to read, I thought the leveling speed in the game was already far too quick. I understand the developers are studying WOW and want to incorporate more of it into 2.0 but "quick leveling" is absolutely one thing to avoid. The very reason people are quitting that game and getting bored is because its too easy to progress and its impossible for Blizzard to keep a fresh influx of content coming into the game. I quit for that exact reason.
All the WOW clones are also finding this out the hard way. I quit SWTOR back in Febuary, not because it was a horrible game (it was quite enjoyable). I quit because I hit the level cap in a week and there was nothing to do, there was no reason to log on except to raid once a week and that is unacceptable for something I'm paying $15 a month for.
I came back to Final Fantasy because I'm sick of the WOW formula. I want to play a game where progression is rewarding and I feel like I've accomplished something new everyday. I think most would agree that we don't want a "World of Final Fantasycraft" we simply want something more like a next gen FFXI.
Currently, playing what I would consider casually (2 hours a day maximum during the week, perhaps a bit more during the weekends) I can hit 50 in about two weeks. Now, to be fair, that's with a full stock of leves and a bit of cash piled up, but I would still consider that a tad ridiculous. At 30, in a standard party, you can gain a couple levels every hour quite easily.
I like the current pace right now. we have to level classes first, then you can do job quest, and then more quest to unlock abilities for those jobs. its not really cakewalk for new beginners, but It might seem really easy for people with multiple 50s already.
Why? Because it helps you sleep at night? Why would I have to bother making a alt to point out how rediculous you are. Your doing a perfectly fine job of doing it yourself it seems.
Would love to hear a response to my question though, or are you too busy with your life to answer it? I know your crunched for time and I'd hate to cut into your busy day.
Sorry I wasn't planning on dignifying it with a response actually. Please do us all a favor and get over yourself.

Yep, which is what i'm getting at, at a standard party, it's about a level or two every hour, but given one does not have a fixed playgroup (which everyone really should get one, it's awesome) the time spent on such a highly-efficient levelling method is reduced. I know all about that, I live in a timezone that fluctuates from -1 to -8 hours of my friends so oftentimes I end up not partying as much as i'd like.Currently, playing what I would consider casually (2 hours a day maximum during the week, perhaps a bit more during the weekends) I can hit 50 in about two weeks. Well, that comes from my normal experience, at any rate.
level 1-50 quickly is right in line with SE's speed run addiction!
If you get 1-50 in all DoW/DoM classes in under 10 days you unlock the hidden classes. If you miss it, you have to delete your character and relevel. But Faster!
Yep, let's just remove leveling altogether while we're at it.I understand why players whine about leveling because they want everything right now. But I imagine if they just flat out got rid of levels people would probably wince and complain about it.
If they are going to treat leveling like a obsticle rather than a adventure, they should just start everyone at level 50 "And raise their level when they raise the cap!" Because if leveling is a short 3 day trip it may as well not even be part of game balance.
Why have low level monsters? Dungeons? Gear? Content? Quests? ___________?
People whine about leveling because they are sad that they can't get everything RFN. People are impatient, it's SE's job to make that rise to the top feel like it's worth it. Christ every other MMO I've played people would always be like.
F*** Yeah! Max level babies!
FFXIV....Oh...I hit 50? ok.
Just because you have a life doesn't mean shit.
The fact you are telling people off because of your claim that you have a life and they don't, it is defamation.
Reality check: just because you don't like something doesn't mean other people can't legitimately like it.I still say there's no need to flesh out the grind longer than it takes for you to learn how to use the abilities that come with those levels. It's an artificial mechanic meant to hold you back while they put out the next CD-ROM - and we're so far past that era.
I feel like that mechanic held people back for so long that finishing was such a huge relief that they somehow mistook it for actual achievement. Repeating the exact same batshit easy task over and over until your level falls out isn't achievement.
Why are skinner boxes and fake plateaus so effective at tricking people into thinking they like it? (Answer: Cognitive Dissonance).
Me? I like doing the actual content that it takes knowing how to do your job to do - why stretch the learning curve father than it takes to learn?
And can't we just necro one of the other 500 threads saying this instead of trolling me into new ones all the time? That tactic is too effective!

What's the point in any content under level 50 then? I guess 1 shotting monsters for gear that's outdated in less then 20 minutes is fun to do.
The point is that you can use it for multiple classes. Having a variety is nice as well? The option to pace yourself and enjoy the lol"adventure" of grinding is there.
