Speaking as someone who also enjoys a little more meat on my leveling curve, this is a pretty reasonable statement, and something I can get behind. That being said, I would argue that what we have right now isn't serving that purpose well. Players never really get the opportunity to learn their skills, either because they got power leveled, or because they ended up soloing all the way to 50, or just because the mechanics in parties are completely different than the mechanics in end-game content.

I'd like a middle road please. Can we have some meatier leveling that actually teaches us our roles without grinding us into a fine dust? The thing about FFXI party based leveling was that, while it was tedious, often easy, and slow, at least the formation of the parties, and the way you played was very similar to your ultimate roles in end-game. I don't really feel we can say the same in FFXIV.

Reaching Level Cap is an Achievement. It is suppose to be a satisfying experience. Hitting level cap in FFXIV means nothing. It doesn't even feel good. It actually, for me, feels bad. When one of my classes hits 50 I don't think yay I can now get in to that End Game content that i wasn't aloud to do because I didn't have the right Class to stack. I think, Damn now there is nothing left to do on this class that I was starting to enjoy.

The Current Rate of leveling in FFXIV is completely unsatisfying.

This ^. I totally agree with you Kiote!
right now I feel like reaching level cap in any job/class doesn't make me feel like I achieved anything and yes it is completely unsatisfying.

The achievement is in playing the game and working toward a goal. You are labeling that as levels is the only thing that can satisfy this. Think outside the box and stop living in the past with outdated concepts of reward through repetition like grinding levels.

The evolution of MMOs needs to be more... Just because Yoshi looked to WoW doesn't mean he is giving us WoW, WoW looked to EQ and were those games the same? We look to our past so we can pave a road to our future.

I was a little disappointed to see this to. Makes me think there wont be any content worthwhile for the lower and middle levels to enjoy. I really hope the concept isn't you level from 1-50 then the game starts.

I understand why players whine about leveling because they want everything right now. But I imagine if they just flat out got rid of levels people would probably wince and complain about it.

If they are going to treat leveling like a obsticle rather than a adventure, they should just start everyone at level 50 "And raise their level when they raise the cap!" Because if leveling is a short 3 day trip it may as well not even be part of game balance.

Why have low level monsters? Dungeons? Gear? Content? Quests? ___________?

People whine about leveling because they are sad that they can't get everything RFN. People are impatient, it's SE's job to make that rise to the top feel like it's worth it. Christ every other MMO I've played people would always be like.

    F*** Yeah! Max level babies!

    FFXIV....Oh...I hit 50? ok.

Gosh you still really continue to get under my skin. Try looking at it from a different perspective. Some people actually have lives. I know right? Ohh Emm Gee

Oh look, it's this BS ad hominem again. Yes, because anyone who wants to enjoy a video game 'has no life'.

Why? Because it helps you sleep at night?

Sorry I wasn't planning on dignifying it with a response actually. Please do us all a favor and get over yourself.

I guess it's fun to accuse people who enjoy a MMO that can last them years to "Have no lives". I can throw out stupid and random acusations to!

"It's a shame that you feel your MMO needs to end a few weeks after you start it. Perhaps if you had a "Life" worth living you would be living it and not using the 10 seconds of free time you have to play a MMO.

You know because your so busy with life and all."
