"In 2.0 you can reach level 50 in short period of time..." No Thanks!

In 2.0 you can reach level 50 in short period of time.
Seriously SE... I don't like the fact that already the speed you can achieve 50 is so fast.
I'd like to actually take some time and dedication to level 50. My favorite part in FFXI was the grind and the leveling and how you had to put time, atleast a little bit of it to get certain levels. I'm not saying it has to be dead slow but the quote from the newest interview with ConnectON has me uneasy.

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ish%29/page401

Back when this game first came out I actually enjoyed Fatigue just because the grind became something you needed to put in dedication into. Not that I want it back or anything I would just like to have more fun leveling up. And in 2.0 with the awesome new maps and cool new areas and mobs I would definitely want to enjoy my time leveling slowly.

I also found that in FFXI the slower pace of leveling and the time you had to put into leveling made people learn how to play their characters better some more than others.
Now here in FFXIV it's pretty easy to get 50 and you can pretty much get it in only some hours or days, and even be Power Leveled pretty close to 50... That just makes it worse because then people don't even learn their own jobs/classes and how to play them at all.
And they also just do it to get everything at 50 and cap.

IMHO I don't want to level all my jobs/classes to 50 because when 2.0 comes out I actually want to be able to still level things up in the new areas lol. Now, I'm not posting this for arguing or anything, I'm just giving out my honest opinion and want to hear some of your opinions and ideas.

At any rate reading the interview and seeing that made me a little disappointed but I'm sure we'll have many other things to do I guess.

I would however, love to hear some ideas and your opinions on this topic and see what you guys have to say ^^ so post your thoughts!
I'm eager to see what you guys think!!

But from 50 to 75 it will take you a very long time.

Anyway I agree it shouldn't be a 'short period of time', whatever they may mean.

I would love to see where you heard this other than baseless speculation.

Personally I'm rather down about the fact that Yoshida is treating reaching the level cap as a hinderance rather than a journey.

More gamers will agree with him than not. Take a look at any MMO forum threads that are re: leveling speed.

Haha, no, that was my wishful-thinking-self speaking. I never heard anything like that confirmed yet.

level 1-50 quickly is right in line with SE's speed run addiction!

If you get 1-50 in all DoW/DoM classes in under 10 days you unlock the hidden classes. If you miss it, you have to delete your character and relevel. But Faster!

Why have low level monsters? Dungeons? Gear? Content? Quests? ___________?

People whine about leveling because they are sad that they can't get everything RFN. People are impatient, it's SE's job to make that rise to the top feel like it's worth it. Christ every other MMO I've played people would always be like.

    F*** Yeah! Max level babies!

    FFXIV....Oh...I hit 50? ok.
Yep, let's just remove leveling altogether while we're at it.

The fact you are telling people off because of your claim that you have a life and they don't, it is defamation.

Reality check: just because you don't like something doesn't mean other people can't legitimately like it.

I've written this before in other topics on the subject.
In FFXI you could get to level 37 very easily (the half way to 75 equivalent of 50 out of 100).
    It was the 'sub-job' level.
    That worked out just fine.

you also have to take into account that FFXI had not only the starter jobs but jobs you could unlock and there were like 9 of them. And yes getting 37 was pretty "easy" i guess, but then you'd have to get that main job up to 75. And, not only that but like Jynx said it was a journey, and it was very fun.
