A race that never had tails to begin with no less... Zaaku needs to take of his nostalgia goggles for a while...Imagine if a once tail-free race suddenly acquire tails after a patch. That would make absolutely no sense, how could you explain that? That would ruin any suspension of disbelief this game offers. At least with jumping it could be explained that gravitational shift caused by Dalamud's descent allows this.
The cat is bemused =-.-=
No it is used correctly because you have your head shoved so far up FFXI's ass you can't see anything but that... your silly Tails thread and talk proves it and this is also why you feel jump is bad... I wonder really do you even have some semblance of a brain inside that head of yours... though it is probably rotten through and through even if you do have one...
You humans always amaze me with how you get stuck in the past or past concepts and can't move on... really now..

And yes, you are using the phrase wrong. 'Rose tinted glasses" and "Nostalgia goggles" infer that I am looking at FFXI and seeing a perfection of form without flaws. Which is quite untrue. I know what I ask for makes the game more difficult, increases time commitment, and puts more pressure on me as a player. I *like* those hardships because they bring out a higher quality community and experience.
As for my own agenda for tails. That is something I personally feel strongly about since SE saw fit to lead me on and targeted me as the core audience during their initial launch. IF you want to hate someone then damn the man who used FFXI's races in this new game. That single act has forever cemented FFXI's presence and player base in this title. Now that the deed is done all I want to see is the proper dues paid. Such as presenting the transposed Galka race in their original light.
No need to bite my head off. If you disagree with me it is a simple act to ignore or counter my argument. Attacking me for having opinions and desires is a pretty tasteless effort.
Tails.
you keep disputing the term Nostalgia goggles I do not think the term means what you think it means.Twelve be good who shit in your wheaties this morning?

Oh please.Don't forget expensive dies!
...then again, I was a Thief, and a cheapass. I farmed and farmed but didn't like paying for a lot. Hence I didn't level corsair. It's interesting how I managed to level nin- never mind, you don't really have a choice in FFXI. NIN sub is a must.
I went 5 years without leveling NIN sub and I did just fine; even when I did level it, whether I was on DRG or DRK, I never used it (not to mention I even changed the views of a dozen DRGs that thought /nin was all they needed). Hell, the only reason I leveled it was to tank at 75 and to sub it for my... WHITE MAGE!
I never leveled PUP, but it was quite useful wherein the player was at least skilled enough to utilize it, endgame-wise or level-wise. But hey, I bet you also believed DRK accuracy sucked also and that DRG was useless without the wyvern. Then you never helped and you were that unique snowflake everyone hates. How does it feel knowing that the rest of your linkshell carried you through. PUP was one of the most useless jobs in almost every event in XI, and in no way balanced.
In fact if you liked PUP you probably should have rejoiced that you actually had some use in Abyssea and Voidwatch.
Please carry on talking about how your PUP was worthwhile in merit parties though.
How was it useful exactly? Give me an example where it excelled. And no I don't think DRK accuracy sucked, they just sucked without an apoc. DRGs have always been mediocre without the Mythic.Oh please.

Well, if all you're using is DRK or DRG, then yeah, I'm not surprised you went without NIN. It's not exactly hard to believe at all. But then again, I'm talking about people who use something other than 2H weapons. You know, like Thief, Dancer [before], WHMs, RNG, BST [on occasion], BLU, COR. So, out of 19 jobs [excluding NIN itself for obvious reasons], that's 7, and even then, MNK, DRK, SAM and WAR had situational uses for it. It was in no way necessary for *every* job to have it, but for certain jobs, it was pretty much a standard, especially for me, as I mentioned before, being a Thief. Obviously, I've seen much more viable combinations what with /SAM for jobs like DRK/DRG/WAR.Oh please.

Anyway, I digress, this thread is a mess, where's the report button.

I don't know what "Nostalgia google" have to do with "Rose tinted glasses".And yes, you are using the phrase wrong. You miss your tail, the tail is past. I call this nostalgic feelings.
Still that is not quite right. Both those phrases are used to describe someone who is fixated on something from long ago and they hold onto that memory and only remember it in the best light. Being aware of something in the past, knowing of its faults and admitting there were problems, yet still liking the original concept despite the short comings. That is just someone who has weighted the thought and found its benefits were more attractive then its cons repelled.
Besides, the Mithra-line got to keep their tails. I would hardly say they are "in the past" when they are right here with us now. It is simply a matter of getting everyone who deserves it placed right back where it belongs.
