Methinks it's down to the artist that puts these outfits together at this point. The only consistency is how inconsistent they are with gendered clothing. They're just inconsistent with details that change between genders. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not, often with skimpy details.
The Prishe and the Mayakov outfits from the Alliance Raid are obviously female coded, but they didn't change anything when ported to male characters. So does the Galatea store outfit... But the Pictomancer's cropped top doesn't happen.
We just don't know what to expect.
One thing is certain, leaving gear intact between genders is actually LESS work, because otherwise would require the artist to think about the adaptations when making the concept art. Also taxes the person who actually creates them into the game, as they have to design 2 different texture and 3D rigs.

I wonder (and probably wont) that when the expac comes out on Dec. 16th they may (again probably not) let us choose which glamour to have M/F one. I am not getting my hopes up but I really want the female Evenstar Tights look on my Male Viera...not those pants. Alas it will probably not happen.
So.... deny gender non-conformity out of fear of forced unisexNo I want more genderlocked gear if anything, I like there being more visible variety between player choices. Thanks to the no genderlocking complaints we have been getting boring unisex gearsets that don\\'t look good at all. I understand people\\'s frustration when one set looks better than the other, I myself would have preferred to use some male versions of older sets, specifically some of the neo ishgardian sets (I don\\'t mean to say the female versions look bad both look great). But this only leads to SE doing unisex gear with no variety instead of letting people chose.
Also sorry not sorry kind of tired of seeing epic funny xd male hroths wearing pastel pink thongs.
Is this not what they are doing to masc models right now? Forcing separation doesn't prevent unisex. Type A and Type B should be accessible to everyone
Femboys exist. Tomboys exist. NB and GNC exist.
I want my shorts and thigh highs and I shouldn't be forced into pants just bc some girl avatar is "uncomfortable" about feminine guys or androgynous ones
Why are masc players punished for being masc?
Not only that they clearly put way more effort in fem models
Why is the crop top more intense on fem models?? Crops were MASC FIRST. girls copied the boys. Heels? Girls copied the boys.
Let mascs and men have fun.
I want my spriggan shorts. Why are the newer pvp half thigh high and shorts pop star idol bottoms just pants bc I have muscular body type? I want the shorts
And this is why I just only wore whm shorts bc people fear the man legs
Exclusion to avoid conformity is just conformity.
No.

Bloody damned right we do, and we recognize that sex is real and putting men's clothes on women or women's clothes on men with no adjustment at all made for the bodies of those women and men makes the clothes ill-fitting and uncomfortable, frequently ridiculous and awful, and also that THE VAST MAJORITY of people are NOT us and are perfectly within their rights to not want everything on planet Earth to cater to us.
There's plenty of stuff in this game that avatars can cross-dress with. There's a ton of stuff in this game that's "unisex" but really obviously isn't. You're not being oppressed just because EVERYTHING isn't catering to you. Some of it ought to cater to people NOT YOU too.
I got really happy that the Merchant's Take sets are clearly designed for each gender but we players can wear every piece no matter what our character is. Everything should be like that going forwards. I'm so tired of seeing the image of a piece, trying it on, and my girl's entire ass is exposed because the image is the men's version.
Yeah, I wish they would at least change the pics for the old ones, and never bring out one-set-two-looks gear ever again.
I hope they stay like this, but I fear it wont. Square Enix has done this before, just when you think they are on the right path, boom another they take two steps back.I got really happy that the Merchant's Take sets are clearly designed for each gender but we players can wear every piece no matter what our character is. Everything should be like that going forwards. I'm so tired of seeing the image of a piece, trying it on, and my girl's entire ass is exposed because the image is the men's version.
