It was an example from another game. In fact 'Normal' was simply the Devs (from that game) not being willing to outright name it "easy" - although that is, essentially, what it was.

Contrast this with solo duties in FFXIV in which, upon failing, one is confronted with "very easy, easy, and normal."

While it is clear that there are abysmally callous posters in this thread, the attitude starts with the studio.

If one of the "git gud, braindead content, skill issue, you just suck" crowd can explain to me how they will be negatively impacted by a DS rez option, I would really like to hear it. Because in the absence of such an explanation... Hmmm. I'd get banned if I completed that thought and I currently have forum permissions for another 18 days.

Oh! Someone suggested NPCs rezzing would lead to botting. No idea if this is true, but if so, already asked and answered. I'd hate for anyone to think lazy casuals were "getting something for free," so make DS under this option a no-loot mode.
