I'm 58 years old, relatively healthy, and can play ego shooters on the highest difficulty rate - so I guess my reflexes are still quite good. But the visual clutter and the unillegible boss emotes of FF14 just kill me. As soon as the boss fires out 15 AEs, then 27 more, then gestures towards the ceiling, the far right corner, and then his butt - I'm dead, as I have no idea what this all means. The game does a horrible job at teaching you what's about to happen next, and I simply refuse to watch guides and memorize all of this garbage.
I would prefer to have an easy mode for all MSQ content; and I would love to have a checkbox in the settings which auto-skips every single MSQ trial - as none of them are ever fun.
Leave the hard content to the people that like hard content, and let me just play through the MSQ. That's not rocket science, no?
I can agree with you on this.

At the end of the day, MSQ and everything MSQ related should cause as little friction as possible, so as many people as possible can clear it. Optional content could be tough but fair (basically along the lines of Dun Scaith when it first launched, that's an example of the perfect difficulty for optional content imo). Extremes/Savages/Ultimates/Unreals can be overtuned to hell to make everything as excruciating as possible to get through. Yeah, the way I laid it out is pretty simplistic. But, in general, I feel like that's a fair start to a framework for addressing content difficulty and satisfying most people.
