Pretty sure if someone gets banned, it's their own fault and not someone else's but what do I know.Congrats you got my husband banned... for your information he himself is bi and accusing him of being "queerphobia" is just silly. You just wanna be right and dont care for anything else. Your side argues "but its a game not real life" yet you go and say "but some want their char to fit their body type"...
SE gave you a finger and you want the whole arm, like usual...
Theres a HUGE difference between earrings, some haripins or literally bikini or brides dress. Its the special thing for women and you want to take it away because you dont wanna play a girl but "play" a girl. There are gender roles, the dress belongs to girls, period.
Two man, two girls, all is fine. Stop using "-phobe" as your magic word for everyone who doesnt support your opinions... we also had quite some trans ingame friends (most stopped playing) and we never had issues. But have fun, go on and report me as well, i dont use the forum these days anyways...
Just try to ban and report everyone you dont like.
I share his opinion that while some gear sure is fine, Kimonos, Robes, heck some Scottish Kilt... everything is fine. But some stuff should stay exclusive or at least get adapted versions.
I love how the example of a bikini is used
Do yall know that speedos are just as much of a men’s swimsuit as bikinis are women’s
Like this reeks of America centric prudish expectations
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Being part of a marginalized group, does not prevent you from bearing prejudice against that group, it's all been internalized. Thinking that someone is "exempt" because they're part of the group? That's...not a good look, it's also not true. Many queer people will live some portion of their life not knowing they are and will be exposed to the beliefs and values of society that place them as "lesser" and those don't just disappear overnight. They need to acknowledge them where they came from and why they are harmful. I strongly suggest you and your husband reflect on this together.

I've been playing Dragon Quest X Online lately and got really annoyed at some of the most blatant gender differences in gear I've seen in an MMO. As a small example if you wanted to have a Patisserie Chef glamour for your character then you're out of luck. Only men are allowed to look like that, women instead get a waitress outfit. The gear is identical and changes depending on what gender character is wearing it.
Like come on man. I just wanna look like a cool chef. lol So I'm for it, give people the options. They've added variant gear before with the Island Sanctuary so why not do the same here?
I am a woman, and I am telling you posts like yours are entirely based on your personal politics and do not belong here.Congrats you got my husband banned... for your information he himself is bi and accusing him of being "queerphobia" is just silly. We're talking about outfits in a video game. This isnt real life. I'm not being robbed of anything because a hroth is in a dress.
My uterus doesnt vanish over anything FFXIV does.
I don't want to keep repeating myself, because as we can see it does nothing. So instead I will say this.
If you are in favor of having glam genderlocks removed, it is in your best interest to simply ignore posters like this. I know, I'm not doing that right now, but this person is a great example.
Notice how they begin by talking about their feelings over their husband.
Since when are we couples therapists? Doesnt belong here.
Then, notice how they begin to talk about their feelings toward politics.
Again, doesnt matter. Irrelevant, does not belong here.
This is video game dress up, not PoliSci class.
What they want from you when they do this, is nothing but your attention.
They know they're off-topic, and they know they're not making any real points.
Since they know they have no real argument against the main subject, they instead deflect to something they think will get a rise out of you, to try getting you to invest time into them instead-arguing back and forth over their personal feelings.
Waste of time.
"Anemone, why is giving players more glam options a bad thing?"
Ok, now this is the part they either have no response, or start rage-listing their highly emotional feelings. Both are hilarious.
In all honesty? Cry me a river. You are trying to impose your own opinions on everyone else. Eorzea is not Earth. Their culture doesn't have to be the same as the US and Europe. That person got banned for a good reason and I'm glad the mods are finally doing their job for once.Congrats you got my husband banned... for your information he himself is bi and accusing him of being "queerphobia" is just silly. And in a group that's as diverse as the queer community, there are warring factions. There are cis queer people who hate transgender people. There are monosexuals who hate the bi's and the pan's, etc.

This you?
Also no idea why previous poster removed their post, they made a good point.
It is not an opinion though, it's a fact. It's all about tolerance / acceptance of others.
I'm a female miqote and I don't mind if for example a male viera wants to wear a dress, would I do the same thing? Probably not because that's not my style but I can RESPECT that someone else might want to use that on their character and that it won't impact me or my life in any way.
You don't have to agree with everyone's opinion or choices but you can ACCEPT or TOLERATE that they might have a different view and it's ok to let them express themselves the way they want to.
As I said in a previous post, it's fine to have "limits" about decency and the such but you don't get to police what's decent or indecent. If the outfit is not "sexual" in any way for a female, it is not for a male either and vice versa, unless you're literally naked and showing intimate parts. There's no rules that says that a female can have a nice 2b ass but males can't.
Also, rule number one: if your argument is "I have trans friends" I need you to know that the amount of transphobes I tolerate because my friends like them is very high, and they don't know how bad their transphobia is. If you have trans friends who are willing to listen to you and your husband's gender essentialist drivel, MelodyCrystel, then odds are that they are doormats or have given up on you. Clothing doesn't have a gender. There's plenty of transphobic queer people, there's also plenty of people with internalized feelings of queerphobia. And there's TERFs, many of which are queer themselves. The "I'm queer so I can't be transphobic" is a fallacy. I have biases towards some groups I am in, too, but I work on them instead of being a pick me for cishets. lol
