Others were just sarcastic and didn't take a side. If you interpret it different then that's odd really.
So you go into zone X, talk to people that are actively playing zone X, and find out that most of them are happy with playing in zone X? Now colour me surprised.

Don't get me wrong, it's ok to try to bring some positivity to this dark place we call the forums - but this sample of yours is horribly skewed.

I for one was happy with the EW relics (there, I said it, now roast me). It was a finite grind, just something for me to do on a daily basis. Give me a rng based grind, and I just nope out. Some finish it in a couple of hours, and for others it takes month to get the last missing puzzle piece - and out of experience I know that I'm usually one of the latter. Been there, done that - no more rng grind for me, tyvm. And of course you will not hear my voice in OC - since I'm just not there.

They already tried that. Twice. Don't you remember "oops we accidentally made it savage teehee" Criterion and "oops we accidentally made it savage again teehee" Chaotic?

No, I should try that. I've been drawn back 20 years to EVE Online. Took my old accounts out of mothballs. My ships were filthy. (This is an actual thing.)

I recommend against it (STO), personally. I played it for twelve years and it used to be quite good..... would discuss more, but not sure this is the appropriate place to do so really.

Exactly my point though. The people actually playing the game seem to not see things the way that these forums do and don't really like all doomposting. Which is why I was saying that a lot of the unhappy ones must have actually unsubscribed at some point or maybe AFK at limsa or their house.

This sort of resistance to doomposting is basically what I've encountered in other content as well.

    And there we have it.
Frankly Jeeqbit is as good and as wholesome as they come, in terms of an understanding bridge between casual and high-end.

And even Jeeqbit, when it comes down it, if they are really.... honest, think that its casuals place to like what they are given, or get-good and start 'enjoying' all the nonsense that goes with PF content that they never had to deal with in the (yes, often) years they spent catching up (endless youtube video guides, the frequent 'rows' about how to interpret those guides, the toxic abandons after 2 pull because some selfish petulant tw@t decides these 'progliars' aren't wort their time, or just doesn't want to wait while the problem is discussed and fixed.)
And if you don't want to do the PF content, if you think they should have added new Expert-EX difficulty content with Chaotic, rather than yet more NEW fkn Savage (like criterion savage and criterion savage+ and every static requiring deep dungeon) ...
then you "just aren't playing the game [why are you here? leave?]"

Casuals. You are not wanted. That is not going to get better. And I am not talking about the community. I'm talking about the game designers.
Everything that is coming out of the community that is the fault of the game designers. Not 99%, 100%.

FFXIV DID used to have a fantastic community. That wasn't because morally, genetically, socially superior human specimens suddenly by chance all suddenly decided to try FFXIV and found each other, it was because the game designers created a game that fostered that community.
It was even baked into the philosophy of the MSQ characters and NPCs with the positive example they set. (Lately I haven't much liked my own WoL with some of the dialog options I've been forced to choose from.)

Your point is, quite frankly, a bad one. It implies that the opinion everyone who has tried the content, found it lacking, and went to give feedback in the channel that is used for feedback is invalid because there are some people content with the little scraps CS3 have given us. Just because the people that remain in the content are the ones enjoying it does not mean that the views of those who gave up on it are invalid. Or that there are people that enjoy things despite it having obvious flaws.

But sure, lets keep silencing the critics and only listen to the sugarcoaters, that will end well for this game

I am scared for the liveletter. I desperately wish they have more to announce than just the next deep dungeon or else we'll have a dead patch

(Except for those that enjoy the new alliance raid, they'll be eating good!)

Whilst I don't want to get too deep into the Doomposting myself (I'm one of the few here who doesn't think Dawntrail was a complete catastrophe and actually enjoyed it for the most part).......
I'm not looking forward to the new Alliance Raid at all. I, personally, did/do not like Jeuno: The First walk very much at all. Whilst I'm well aware that expressing an opinion about content being "too difficult" is unpopular here, I nonetheless find the mechanics, and the speed in which they're used, difficult to react to, particularly combined with snapshot issues.

On the less relevant side of things I don't think the music was terribly interesting either - certainly not en-par with the likes of Aglaia and Euphrosyne.

So if Jeuno is anything to go by, I don't see myself enjoying the second Echoes of Vana’diel AR either.
