Dawntrail Doomposting Megathread

I wouldn't characterize any of that as happy.

My point is they were defending the game. It's perhaps hard to read it all after the fact but I searched for the names one by one and specifically only 2 expressed any negative sentiment whatsoever. Everyone else was saying things like "grinds are part of MMOs", "it's not as bad as ARR", "stop complaining and doomposting", "there's nothing wrong with this zone", "we're busy doing actual content instead of complaining" (as in a CE) etc. Some were sarcastic towards the negativity. Others were just sarcastic and didn't take a side. If you interpret it different then that's odd really.

So you go into zone X, talk to people that are actively playing zone X, and find out that most of them are happy with playing in zone X? Now colour me surprised.

Don't get me wrong, it's ok to try to bring some positivity to this dark place we call the forums - but this sample of yours is horribly skewed.

I for one was happy with the EW relics (there, I said it, now roast me). It was a finite grind, just something for me to do on a daily basis. Give me a rng based grind, and I just nope out. Some finish it in a couple of hours, and for others it takes month to get the last missing puzzle piece - and out of experience I know that I'm usually one of the latter. Been there, done that - no more rng grind for me, tyvm. And of course you will not hear my voice in OC - since I'm just not there.

Exactly my point though. The people actually playing the game seem to not see things the way that these forums do and don't really like all doomposting. Which is why I was saying that a lot of the unhappy ones must have actually unsubscribed at some point or maybe AFK at limsa or their house.

This sort of resistance to doomposting is basically what I've encountered in other content as well.

Your point is, quite frankly, a bad one. It implies that the opinion everyone who has tried the content, found it lacking, and went to give feedback in the channel that is used for feedback is invalid because there are some people content with the little scraps CS3 have given us. Just because the people that remain in the content are the ones enjoying it does not mean that the views of those who gave up on it are invalid. Or that there are people that enjoy things despite it having obvious flaws.

But sure, lets keep silencing the critics and only listen to the sugarcoaters, that will end well for this game
