The point of the complaints is, look at any other fan-favourite job. Let's say, WAR. Imagine that SE makes a potency change to the job, that means that pressing 123 combo is more potency on average, than spending gauge on Fell Cleave. You just don't use Fell Cleave at all in this hypothetical.

Now imagine, that some players are saying 'yeh but WAR is still the top DPS of the tanks so why does it matter?' It matters because the filler actions don't feel as good to use as the 'gated' actions, such as gauge spenders, CDs, etc. And if these 'gated' actions aren't worth pressing, the question creeps in, 'why do we even have these actions if we never use them?', eventually leading to a push for their removal or reworking.

PCT isn't just 'Element in Color - The Job', Painting the Motifs is what sets it apart from the other jobs. Now, it's questionable as to whether it's worth it to even paint your Motif in half of the available scenarios. I'm seeing talk of it being 'optimal' to skip painting a Creature Motif if it's an 'odd Motif' (That being, one that doesn't trigger Mog/Madeen to be available) if you're near the end of an encounter and it'd be the last one you get in, and more recently, that it's 'optimal' to just skip your odd-minute Hammer Combo entirely. What on earth are they doing over there
