ya know, I did say I wanted WHM to better mirror BLM but this really wasn't what I meant
It'd be funny if by some miracle WHM got something that increases its complexity this patch

At best it would just be increases in the dot and the nuke spell. That's what they always do for the selfish healer classes.
Doesn't matter how sick people are, this is the de facto healer thread.
For WHM, they'll get a special treatment for receiving highest number of number tweaks because remember: Dia and Dia ticks are different actions :P /j
I had similar thoughts; I wanted Glare to have a 2.8s cast time or so, a "healing stance" that could be used to build lilies akin to Umbral Ice, effectively making Misery into a Paradox analogue, and only a handful of instant casts/short casts for movement and weaves. The last thing I wanted was for BLM to become what the live letter showed.
The healer strike accomplished nothing and now they're destroying black mage too.
I think it's time to give up and go home, or find a better game because you'd think that 1000 pages warrant even a passing mention in an interview. Except, it's radio silence.
Clearly they don't care so why should you care about this game?
Realistically only a general strike would even do anything at this point, but the community just fights itself lol. Look at the number of people on The Balance who are laughing at black mage saying they got their comeuppance. And remember how every other role made fun of the healer strike? So even that route is off the table because the community would rather fight itself than fight the devs.
Have some self respect and stop allowing yourselves to be taken advantage of. Remember to leave a bad review on Steam and Metacritic on your way out. Tell your friends thinking of getting into FF14 to stay far, far away. That's the best anyone can do. There is no future for FF14. (There might be a future if the community bands together in solidarity, but alas..)

Ideally, the more jobs SE destroys the identity/playstyle of, the more voices join the protest
Unfortunately, as you mention, it seems far too many players refuse to acknowledge the hypocrisy of saying 'I hate what they're doing to my class, but also those guys complaining about their class for 5+ years should stop complaining there's no problem there'
If every Job who's gameplay had been negatively impacted by SE's crusade for 'accessibility' or whatever reasoning they trot out, actually came together and said 'we don't like the changes SE thrust upon our Jobs', who'd be left to whiteknight for the company? Almost every job at this point has had some 'moment' in the past that has negatively impacted their gameplay/identity and alienated old fans.
At this point, I think it's like... GNB and RDM? Are the only jobs that don't have a sizeable amount of complaints around them (regarding 'I miss old version of Job')? Even worse is things like SGE, where the complaints aren't 'I miss old version', but moreso 'there didn't get to be an old version to miss, because SE shortcutted straight to making it a copy of the bad version of SCH we're now complaining about'
I think with sage it's "what we could have had". We were promised a heals-via-DPS-based healer but like you said we got a weaker scholer with tecno aesthetics, so in this case it's the squandered potential that is rubbed into our faces.
Fr it's a shame because I like SGE vibe/looks the most. Them being sort of medical/science-y healer, and nouliths is cool as hell. But the gameplay..... it's very dry. I know it's copy paste from sch, but idk, sch still feels better for some reason.
*I don't play whm so I can't speak of it.
I don't understand SGE, I tried but it just infuriates me at every turn, I went back to learning how to play SCH instead because it doesn't annoy me.
