I will say, I don't often 'vocalise' my desire for guidance, but sometimes - in content I'm not confident playing - I will mark and follow a player who has a mentor crown as tend to assume they know what they're doing and I can therefore follow their lead to a degree.I guess the question is which comes first?
Do mentors get ground down by constant rejection of help and rudeness? Or does their contempt for weaker players cause them to offer help in an abrasive manner, and that is the cause of the rejection?
I honestly don't know the answer to that, but imagine that like everything else in games and life, some mentors are better than others.
I just checked the requirements to be a battle mentor and was horrified to discover that I qualify lol.
This suggests the system could do with a little tweaking.
Yup, anyone can get battle mentor. Only requires a lot of time for dungeon clears/commendations. But I'm not sure what they could do to improve it.
