I expect there will be some combos that allow you to break the trinity somewhat and have 'actual DPS numbers' as a non-DPS
For example, Time Mage might allow certain actions (cough Misery) to 'rewind' to the moment before execution, allowing you to get extra uses from them. Or 'Quicken' to instantly set their CD to zero and allow an instant use
Chemist might allow you to mix that one combo from FF10 that guarantees every hit is 9999 (good for many-hits-per-GCD actions like the DOT, or small OGCD hits like Energy Drain)
Ranger I only remember because of X-Attack (which we now know as Barrage on BRD), which hits 4 times. So, 4x Misery, for example? Only game I've played with Ranger in is FF5, so IDK if they made it more than 'X-Attack - the job' in a later installment

If you mean this, then say it on your main. (ᗒᗨᗕ)
No clue why people want to waste their time making burner accounts to "troll" these forums but to each their own I guess. (◍´͈ꈊ`͈◍)

Me neither. It seems like a tremendous waste of time. It takes lots of effort for little or no reward.
The healer strike accomplished nothing and now they're destroying black mage too.
I think it's time to give up and go home, or find a better game because you'd think that 1000 pages warrant even a passing mention in an interview. Except, it's radio silence.
Clearly they don't care so why should you care about this game?
Realistically only a general strike would even do anything at this point, but the community just fights itself lol. Look at the number of people on The Balance who are laughing at black mage saying they got their comeuppance. And remember how every other role made fun of the healer strike? So even that route is off the table because the community would rather fight itself than fight the devs.
Have some self respect and stop allowing yourselves to be taken advantage of. Remember to leave a bad review on Steam and Metacritic on your way out. Tell your friends thinking of getting into FF14 to stay far, far away. That's the best anyone can do. There is no future for FF14. (There might be a future if the community bands together in solidarity, but alas..)

Ideally, the more jobs SE destroys the identity/playstyle of, the more voices join the protest
Unfortunately, as you mention, it seems far too many players refuse to acknowledge the hypocrisy of saying 'I hate what they're doing to my class, but also those guys complaining about their class for 5+ years should stop complaining there's no problem there'
If every Job who's gameplay had been negatively impacted by SE's crusade for 'accessibility' or whatever reasoning they trot out, actually came together and said 'we don't like the changes SE thrust upon our Jobs', who'd be left to whiteknight for the company? Almost every job at this point has had some 'moment' in the past that has negatively impacted their gameplay/identity and alienated old fans.
At this point, I think it's like... GNB and RDM? Are the only jobs that don't have a sizeable amount of complaints around them (regarding 'I miss old version of Job')? Even worse is things like SGE, where the complaints aren't 'I miss old version', but moreso 'there didn't get to be an old version to miss, because SE shortcutted straight to making it a copy of the bad version of SCH we're now complaining about'

I think with sage it's "what we could have had". We were promised a heals-via-DPS-based healer but like you said we got a weaker scholer with tecno aesthetics, so in this case it's the squandered potential that is rubbed into our faces.

Call me petty if you will, but I think SGE creation is their way to try to prove that SCH did not need Energy Drain at all in their kits but, given that SGE is a carbon copy, they’ve only succeeded to recreate the same issue, hilariously so.
