Why do casual players seem entitled to cosmetic items added in game?

A hairstyle isn’t something that they ever add into ex/savage+ content (CMIIW) so the decision from first place already looks odd to me. Yet at the same time I don’t know what would they add to incentivize replays more.

Exactly. When the prices would constantly drop to a manageable level and the market board would have enough hairstyles for everyone I think the complains would be less.

I am monitoring the prices on the EU data center and they dropped from 25 mio to 12-15 mio and for a few days the prices are already rising again and are now at 18 mio. The content is already dying out.

The graph going down at the end is an outlier. Someone forgot a decimal and sold it for 2 mio instead of 20. The prices are constantly rising since the night between the 30th and 31st. Maybe they will drop again at the weekend, but long term I don't think they will go down until the moogle tome event in two years floods the market board with the hairstyle.

Agreed, as time pass I think the hair will jump back between 50 to 100 mill till they add it to the Moogle event. Sucks for those players who start playing till then tho since they wont have a chance to get the hair...that my whole point about it being in content like CAR. If only it was added to maps or something more casual to mid-core so it would stay around longer and give ppl more of a chance to earn it.

Catering rewards to potential future players is pointless and near impossible anyway

Like why can’t I log onto RuneScape right now and go “why can’t I have a party hat?” I mean they were worthless when they dropped in 2001 and now they are the most valuable items in the game

Should every person be given the option of being given a partyhat because not everyone was around in 2001? Or should if you want something but joined later than it was at its most accessible point you pay what it’s being sold for

You should already know why RuneScape is a bad example to use when comparing it to FFXIV. There are only a few examples where content in XIV is designed long term. Comparatively practically everything in RuneScape is designed for Long Term functionality, and even a lot of the content in RuneScape has a high amount of solo activity in it which lends itself to the design they’ve opted for.

These are the last sales on EU: One for 15 mio, the others for around 18 mio. One person forgot a decimal and sold it for 2 mio, another one seemingly forgot to put in a 1 at the start and sold it for 9 instead of 19 mio. Or they were just generous?
