    - More interesting dungeons that are more rewarding. This is the bread and butter MMO content and all we get is to repeat a boring hallway (which they even cut down to one dungeon per patch) 5 times a week for currency, and the loot sucks too. Why aren't there more dungeons and why aren't they designed like variants and why don't they drop actual useful gear (even if you had to do a challenge or something to get it)?

    - The only practical alternative for a casual player is to follow a train to kill mobs that die too quickly. Nothing has been done to fix hunts or make other content worth doing for tomes.

    - Having a relic quest and/or an exploratory zone at launch.

    - Instanced housing that is worth interacting with. Fixing housing constraints regarding item placement and item limits.

    - Proper implementation of Glamour, including a glamour log, hats and hair for all races, cross job glamours and enough plates to cover all jobs.

    - An actual progression system. Almost every piece of casual content is pointless to do because there are no rewards. No talents, no relic progression, no stat boosts or special materia, no battle gear. The main progression formats are the MB / the normal raid, tomestones and savage. That's it. To maximize boredom, every job plays the same and is designed for the lowest common denominator.

All of these suggestions have been made countless times for years. I was a collector so most of this never bothered me but anyone with half a brain can figure out why casuals don't bother playing anymore. My husband quit in Endwalker for this very reason. All he wanted to do was to log in and fight something to get stronger, but that content didn't exist. So he stopped logging in.
I agree. Thank you for making a list! : )
It would be also cool if SE would not just let older content die. It does not always need something completely new to
    bring interesting stuff to do.

And it makes me a little bit sad to see how many people just try to attack in a personal way, instead of thinking about the problem.
I really love this game and that's why I came here when I saw more and more problems. But most people I met in game never visit these forums.
Most people of my friendlist are gone, never online. Just got bored so much that they left. That's what most people do
when they are unsatisfied over a period of time. They don't speak. They just go. This is what can kill an MMO in the long run, isn't it? : c

It doesn't matter if you are a casual, midcore, hardcore, whatever, we should all be damn well concerned about the amount of effort being put into what we are getting and how little of it there is.
    Yes, that's it. Thank you!

This is how it always feels with first PLL of a new expac. They confirmed what is mostly coming out for 7.2.

Casual content is supposedly coming in this expac, its just coming much later. It really is a shame since the game could really use that exploration zone now lmao.

is this the new form of "just quit"?

basically you are attempting to silence anyone saying the game isnt perfect. which of course you are entitled to on public forums, but lets not sugarcoat it. you are telling people their opinions dont matter and just to quit.

It does suck. New content that I'm never going to do. The beast tribes are good and the custom delivery, but I would've rather had them a month ago.

It just seems like they're tone deaf on the harder content they want to release, ignoring the fact that a vast majority of people aren't going to do it. Regular 24 mans can be a pain. I'm not sure who wanted harder, but there you go. Let's hope it has good rewards. Otherwise, it's dead after a month like Eureka Orthos and Varient Dungeons.

But I don't do content I can't just queue for so there's that.

Don't get me wrong, I would love some more midcore content. I just don't want it at the level of having to watch guides and follow a meta. I just want to play.

Surely there is room for a 'grey area'?
Those players who're disappointed, but not outright offended? Those players who liked Dawntrail well enough but will also concede that there was room for improvement?

Maybe they should read the complaints of those who still like the product enough to pay for it. I am currently emptying my houses to let them go and don't really care what fixes SE comes up with in a few years, because I won't be here to see them.

It's almost like FFXIV exists to be the antithesis of WoW. During 2013 through 2023, when WoW was all about the endgame grind, FFXIV invested in casual content. But in 2024, WoW has more casual content than FFXIV with tons of single-player (plus optional multiplayer) things to do including delves. So what does FFXIV do? Invest everything into endgame raiding! Say goodbye to your casual content, it's all about the raid grind from here on out. Extreme trials, savage alliance trials, and ultimates. If you don't like those, then just go back to WoW, am I right fellas? Funny how times have changed.

I chose FFXIV because it was the non-raider's MMO, so if Square Enix is looking for us to switch to WoW, then we have no choice but to oblige. I'm not changing my interests just because a multinational corporation tells me to.

Yep, that's true, some things will always remain the same. Just like Square Enix going broke and making bad choices. It wasn't that long ago that FF13 was a dumpster fire, FF14 1.0 flopped, FF15 was a mess, and FF16 was a bore. FFXIV was exceptional for a while, but now we're back to what we're all used to.

It's kind of absurd to think about the timeline with the current cadence. If it's in X.25 like Eureka, that's probably somewhere in April. If it's X.35 like Bozja, that's late August at the earliest. It's even sillier to think that something like Beastmaster, if it's placed in the same spot BLU was, will be in the middle of May 2026.
