Many of you have very respectfully given feedback on a few of the elements you’ve found needing adjustment, along with suggestion to improve them. That’s what the forums are for. Many, many, many others of you, multiple times, have openly voiced your disgust, contempt, outright hatred of said character for ruining your experience in Dawntrail.

And now, a few of you, for WHATEEEEEVER reason…have felt justified in doing the above. This particular brand of malice, like I said in another post. . .is disgusting. I’ve been playing 14 since 2.0 and I have not once seen the collective community go behind the scenes/character to do what’s transpired here, be it this forum, Reddit, wherever. Not the first time, but this…
I see this topic certainly a bit late, but I FULLY agree with the emphasis on the "Many, many, many of you". This place is incredibly full of arrogant, despicable, toxic and thus pathetic people (not everyone as many discuss in very nice ways).
Being anonymous brings the worst of the people, we know it. While FF14 is a secondary social circle to people, the forum adds another layer of "protection". Whenever I come on this forum to read about topics I'm interested to, I stay voiceless at how people talk to one another, we are far from the benevolent community we are reputed for.
People are straight up arrogant douches because their Irl is protected. Almost all would never quite behave this way Irl (actually, I've never met someone like some of the people I can read here), adding to that the cliché representation of (hard)core gamers, I'm sure that for some the contrast between their online behavior and (pathetic) irl self must be very...funny.
I'm mentioning Irl here because a portion of these already sad excuses of people think it's even fine to directly attack a Voice Actor they didn't like (or straight up hated) the performance of, with clear irl threats and consequences. It's disgusting how people can behave out of anonymity (and e-ego).

Whether your irl like is good or pathetic, there is NO justification for behaving this way, ever. I lack words to express how despicable these people are, but I hope this post will work as a wake up call for part of them (and bring the actor support as well).

Yes, it is. Everyone is capable of independent thought and will make their own choice on what to do, we're not all part of a hive mind.

For me personally, if it's someone that brings the conversation up in a respectful manner and is someone I know personally, I will do my best to respect what they wish to be called because I have that personal attachment to them and do care what they think/feel. Otherwise, it's entirely up to the attitude and way it's brought up when it comes to people I don't know. If the person is respectful about it and doesn't eat my head off if I accidentally misgender them (because I'm a human being who makes mistakes), then we're cool. If the person decides to throw a public tantrum and call me a transphobe, then we will have an issue.

Respect is given when it's earned in my book. I'm not going to go out of my way to do what someone wants if they only want it for validation purposes and subsequently turn into a toddler when it doesn't go the way they hope.
I'm also not going to respect any member of the transgender community that tries to paint cis-women or cis-men as less worthy of things because they aren't getting the attention they'd like (which is a whole other conversation of why I question the motives of some people in the transgender community and what they think being a woman actually is).

So no, it is up to you and it is up to me and it is up to anyone else. If you take away the ability for someone to make a choice, all you're doing is forcing them which isn't actually getting the respect you want, ye?

Ik im not in the position to judge that, but ive always felt they treated it with all the dignity they could. What he lived for, what he believed in, everything was gone of falling apart.. and he knew he'll take their old ways with em, thats why he dismissed them all first.

They couldve went like with Varo portraying an maniac who just went insane, but they choose that path.

I really wished we'd gotten more of this - imo its the polar opposite of what Zoral Ja did in the end...

I getcha. I got called 'miss' more times than I can count because I was very androgynous as a kid. It wasn't malice, it was a mistake. People tend to roll with requests if they're polite.

That's... not how social interaction works. How a person addresses another is always dependent on the person doing the addressing. The other can request to be addressed another way, but the person addressing them will always choose for themselves how to address them. Rudely, politely, sarcastically... Decided by the addressee at every interval.

    EDIT:

Wait. So you do understand this?

I always giggle at melodramatic depictions of suicide.

Very, very few people die with dignity. Suicide's no different. Suicides are 1AM impulse decisions with a gun and a bottle of jack, and they don't leave a theatrical mess. They leave traumatized people and an absolute disaster area of blood, excrement, and viscera. They leave a ragged hole you can never patch up. People won't go into that room ever again. That place becomes hallowed ground in the most profane way.

I've been there when people die. They die screaming for their mothers, they die begging for a reason. Death is an awful, ugly thing, and no amount of sad music and melodrama will change that.

It was funny to me precisely because of the 'dignity' of it. He had everything I wanted when I took my shot. Respect, purpose, reason. And he threw it all away because what, he 'failed his emperor'?

My guy, you're not in the ground yet. Put down the gun, pick up a hammer, get to work. You failed when you let him build his empire on sand. Grow a pair and fix it.

You can think your having a social interaction all you want. If the other person does not adress you back? Then you are talking to yourself.

Not to be rude or anything, but you do realise, you're just adding to the arrogant, despicable, toxic and thus pathetic people by that statement right ?

And to be rude, Sena Bryer is a piss poor person, doesn't matter if she is trans, she's just plain rude and uses the fact that she is trans as a weapon. Furthermore, she did a piss poor performance and again, that has nothing to do with her being trans and yes, I did use the right noun...she.

Off topic w/ potential SB Spoilers

I mean no one is going to talk about Zenos in the Royal Menagerie how horrific the scene must've been, blood literally gushing out of his 'nearly severed head', but instead he fell elegantly on a bed of flowers like a beautiful princess. I still believe my WoL who loves him got traumatized seeing that. It would've been a gruesome sight, I doubt anyone would be singing for freedom after that.

I certainly didn't enjoy the glorified assisted suicide at the end of EW, it soured the entire expansion for me, but hey I'm really super biased because I love the single braincelled blonde man.
