I just wish the mods would moderate their own official forum ffs... I know not many people use it, but it's still part of the FFXIV community, and seeing it portrayed in this light is not good. None of the things being said here would be acceptable in-game, on reddit, or on any other ffxiv community website or discord. It's really annoying how the players do a better job of making the communities not turn into a cesspool like this current one.

It is being moderated, look at the general forum menu threads, it shows how many posts have been deleted on each thread on the righthand side. You're just mad they aren't moderating posts that express views you don't agree with. You don't want moderation, you want censorship.

What hate? If you can't deal with criticism get off the internet. "Safe spaces" ruin every single chance of having discussion because there is always someone offended over nothing. People instantly call you names if you don't agree with their views or ways of thinking.

If you're looking for exchange of idea and discussion, than barring extreme case most open forum is decent enough for the purpose.

If you're looking for only validation, an echo chamber will be better suit for that purpose.

I'm not sure why people are mad at the VA tbh. If her performance was subpar, it's not her fault. Nothing at all is her fault. Ultimately this falls on whoever is in charge quality assurance at SE. They were satisfied with her performance, so the responsibility falls on them squarely. She could have had more takes. She could have been replaced entirely. They chose to keep her. Love her or hate her, she did the job she was picked for and got her paycheck.

That said, with the pretty mediocre story that was Endwalker and now Dawntrail, I'm not sure the quality checks in general are particularly high, and certainly they'll never be high enough for certain players.

I've no sympathy for a person who wants others out of their jobs, i.e. her comments towards a female VA for voicing a trans character. It's always x for me but not for thee with people like that. Lets not forget the way she wishes she could treat cis and straight VA's, hint like utter garbage.

And not sorry but I frankly don't believe she got a bunch of threats, so many people play up the abuse they get to score a bigger victim card. To the extent it is true, it's unacceptable and for death threats the police should be contacted. You can hate the VA all you want, death threats and such are stupid. Calling for her to never voice anything important for SE again, I'm all for that one... she really didn't do a great job. When Wuk was just talking it wasn't awful, but anything with more emotions or exertion was straight ass, heck she even lost the accent at times.

But I won't be crying over a crappy individual getting backlash for not only their crappy opinions but the crappy job they did voicing Wuk Lamat. Should have hired someone with more range, that final scene was f'ing tragic in English. The VA quality overall for english speakers was pretty bad, Wuk stands out more because we never got away from her. Ditch that LA studio please SE, they did a crap job. Go back to the old one.
