    I think they did that because of the flexibility of the 3 roles no matter what situation at any range you can move around and attack compared to melee that loose a lot of damage when they are kept away from the boss for many seconds and as for casters their movement is limited to certain extand and it also dont help that bard and dancer are both support dps

    Aye but as bosses now take up 99% of the arena uptime becomes less and less of a concern; so unless the bard and dancer buffs are significant (generally not anymore) then really...why not just take one of the 6 melee dps available?

    It's because even in those contents, the job still boils down to hitting the same GCD button 50% of the time. It's boring as hell, and not engaging in this least.

    That said, I stand with our Ranged bros in solidarity. And our Tank bros. And our Melee bros. And our Caster bros. Because Jesus tap dancing Christ, the Job design this expansion for every single role is worse than ARR. This team has NO idea what they're doing, and everything sucks to play.

    thats not right the job design team does know what they are doing………when it comes to putting 95% of their collective resources into pictomancer and making it the only fun and well designed job in the game

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    Honestly, the quick fix for this would be increasing the phys ranged party composition slot damage buff to something more meaningful like 5% instead of the 1% the others get.

    This way, phys ranged becomes a 'faux-role' in the party composition, making harder for people to ignore them.

    This is the issue.. we don't want "quick fixes" we want big changes

    I wouldn't expect big changes for a whole dps niche in the middle of a content patch... Better chances for a big fix as an expansion feature.

    They really should just go all in and make all DPS greedy, no longer having to worry about balancing between party buffs will make them all equally desireable in all content and more fun to play.

    Why not?
    BLM, VPR among others have gotten major mechanical changes just this patch and jobs such as Paladin have gotten potency increases across the board on pretty much all skills.
