Feedback: Dawntrail MSQ dungeon difficulty

So obviously, Alexandria Boss 1 is the standout among these. Great boss. Tons of fun. Way too hard for MSQ. You need to make five precise movements which need to secondarily respect an AoE that will go off sometimes before and sometimes after the tic-tac-toe telegraph depending on when the inhaling sequence starts, in close proximity to the boss and all the effects going on around it. It's then immediately followed up with a tank buster for the tank and a stack for everyone else. This is straight up harder to execute than most of the stuff the first Extreme throws at you. The tank's probably fine because the tank's always fine. If one person died and another got hit, the person who got hit is likely to die without intervention of some kind. I know how to throw a thing onto someone else as a tank but I struggle to execute that and hell if I've seen a tank do that for anybody during that sequence. If two people died and you're the healer, have your cooldowns up and know exactly what to do, you can survive the stack solo by topping off, throwing on a shield and mitigating, but that's also asking a lot. Someone is at minimum healing an extreme before that's being asked of them.

All I heard was me, me, me, me………what about literally everyone else that ask for a difficulty increase…..they don’t matter……and it’s not even difficult.

For 1 you said that YOU don’t want “ difficult “ content when you’re doing a story……….you do understand that these dungeons are forever, right, and that the story is a few hours.

So why would you wanna ruin the difficulty of a fight, something that’ll last forever, for a one time experience, just because you couldn’t be bothered to learn the simple mechanics in the fight and use just about 0.00000001 percent of your brain power to perform simple executions of mechanics you’ve seen a million times before?, does that make sense…..don’t even answer that.

You cannot dumb down the game to your level and think that you’re in the right just cause you don’t wanna use a couple brain cells and learn mechanics that you’ve seen a million times before, it’s time that you do better and develop as a player and stop dragging eveyone else down to your level.

I have a right to speak here about changes I would like w/o giving you my medical information and not get bullied for it. I am saying a change that would help me without whining that every dungeon/trial are too difficult. They are not imo. That is exactly what some of you are doing to others voicing their concerns, BULLYING, chastising, making fun overall presenting a very toxic environment for seniors and the handicapped on a public forum. This is why even though I love the game, I mainly play alone BUT take your Gil on the MB if you are too busy leeting it up or low IQ to make stuff yourself *chuckle*. Anyway, I'm done with those that mock, Bes out.

No one is saying you cannot speak here, the issue is that what your saying isn't very well thought out.

Every single post you have made is so hypocritical it borders on delusion. No one is trying to be genuinely toxic, its just the points you bring up aren't a real problem *obeserve the overwhelming agreement(99%) on this forum, other forums, and every single youtube video or post... its not even close.*

If you do have have physical and mental debilitations you just have to understand that no logical or effective measure can be put in place that wouldn't be abused by the majority of the playerbase and make the product overall worse. Thats just how it is at the moment, maybe a gigachad dev can make some innovation to bridge the gap in the future. But at this stage this is just the limit on what can be done without sacrificing the integrity of the game.

There are well meaning people here that would like to help others in content, I VERY rarely meet toxicity in this game. Most people just quietly bow out of groups they aren't happy with, which is fine.

But the fact that you adamantly refuse to see possible solutions nor understand the potential ramifications of your suggestions and instead cry toxicity towards everyone here speaks louder than anything you said up until this point.

There needs to be a middle ground between both ends of the spectrum. This IS the middle ground.

To reaffirm this post, I always go RDM in roulettes just to help people who are struggling and carry them over the finish line with no judgement. I'm actually happy when they mess up because it's not just me doing my usual rotation for the 100,000x time and actually thinking about mp management

As an avid healer main of many years, I promise that I'm not mad to see people screwing up in dungeons, trials, or other adjacent content. More often than not, I'm BEGGING for something to go wrong so that I can have something to do. I will happily take any opportunity to save my party, clutch tight recoveries, or just help someone along in general with a wide smile on my face. God knows healers have nothing else to do in anything under savage and ultimates anyways haha. By all means, make my day!

Couldn't have said it any better myself. The adamant refusal to concede ground, be open to constructive criticism, and ego that prevents them from asking for help is what saps the sympathy out of my sails. You can't help or change someone that doesn't think there is anything wrong.

I guess you didn't read the part where I talked about a change in Trusts that would help me. Few people, myself included. are wanting to change existing content, just a small change here and there that will not affect the rest. You just want to see what you would like wrttten so you can squack lol. So toxic. I repeat, it is none of the forums biz what my medical needs are. You are insinuating and insulting me.

Don't lose hope and learn. The good thing about ff14 fights are they have so little rng you can literally learn to predict what you need to do over time. At the worst of cases you can stop pressing buttons foresee you need to be at xyz spot in 5 seconds move there beforehand and then start pressing buttons again.
If you're trying to learn to just react to things of course 14 is a bad game for that just because of how snapshotting works. It's better to learn how to premove correctly on all the mechanics.

I never stopped to look at it this way, I just got frustrated thinking I just can't do it, so i haven't played in a few days, I am going to go into it and just run around and not fight, to try and learn the fight. Such a good idea idk why I didn't think it was an option.
My Anxiety just kept telling me you suck, you can't do it just give up, and the people commenting reiterated what my Anxiety brain was telling me.
now for trials I wont be able to do that so hopefully they don't mind me floor tanking lol

When people are telling you to get good and improve, they often aren't being dismissive. Take them at face value. If you don't know how to do those things (which is fine! this game has a huge problem with teaching its players!) then ask people who have figured it out and see if that works. I know there is a tendency to think of people who are telling you to improve as looking down on you for being bad. I know it can feel really awful when you know you are relatively underperforming and you just feel like a burden. The only time in this game I ever get frustrated with a player for not being good enough is when that player is me.

The game is an MMO. Raiders are generally very passionate, and far more social than you may presume. We can't clear the raids on our own! Most raid groups are just 8 people chatting and making jokes while working through whatever fight it happens to be. We care a lot about our own performance, and improving, and love to see others share in that passion. Genuinely, don't be afraid to reach out, and if anyone does actually end up being mean just ignore them.

If I had to give my best advice, it is to stop reacting, and start predicting. Start paying attention to patterns, and thinking about how a thing can be done. Take every failed mechanic, and every wipe as a small opportunity to reflect and adjust. For example, the one time a boss killed me in the MSQ was orogenics boss 1 - it was a lot faster than I was expecting - and also I was not expecting it to repeat the same side twice... so I moved back to the center to reduce the movement needed when the tell is shown, and also used sprint just to make it a bit easier on me... and it worked. Honestly, just that attitude and perspective alone is the difference between those who do extremes+ and those who don't. Dying and wiping is fine! Don't be ashamed of it. You'll get there, I believe in you.

I would say your suggestion of allowing the trust members to resurrect would seem a reasonable suggestion at first glance. I myself use trusts and I believe that trusts serve two purposes: Immersion and RPG experience. NOT coddling someone through the game(though in implementation it already kind-of does that). I'd argue that even the people you're advocating this for would find that if this was implemented, you'd find significantly reduced satisfaction from completing a duty after dying numerous times only to be carried by AI controlled members over the course of an hour (Quote to the people who are saying they've been having a bad time since they die a lot even though they get past the bosses). So no. At that point just join a pf, no one minds carrying a few people who don't play very well. It's a MSQ dungeon/trial no one is sweating over deaths, even a wipe or two. Or even better, just go watch a video. It'd probably provide a better cinematic experience(which is why MSQ watch-a-longs are so popular).

So I repeat the changes you're suggesting serve little to no purpose and are a waste of time, money and resources. The "small" changes you're claiming could be more complicated than what they seem, especially in the way of coding an AI to play a game. Even the most unrelated changes sometimes cause them to bug out.

I am not asking for your medical needs. No one did. Frankly I could care less. I'd suggested reasons as to why its not feasible to accommodate everyone with disabilities. I'm not asking you about you're particular needs as that is your business. The fact that you saw it as an attack only supports the claims I made earlier.

If you have even half the wisdom of the age you're claiming to be, accept that this game cannot cater to the extremes. While it tries it best to be welcoming to all, it realistically can't. Not without over funding of development which would not make sense for small sub sections of their player base. Harsh, yes but its just how business works.

People asking or expressing feelings and ideas here are for Square not you and your fanboy ilk. I do not care what you want nor what you think I need. I am simply expressing my personal thoughts to a game I pay2play and have done so for many years. That is my right without you and others attempting to armchair diagnose or personally attack why we express ourselves in a way you don't agree with. If you do not agree, ignore me or just move on.

Shadow I also had some trouble this time around with 1 of the trusts. I have found that playing a ranged DPS then following the healer around like I am almost glued to them really helps me miss the multiple ground aoe square loves so much and helps me be out of harm's way in most coming attacks. Just a tip to try if you choose. Usually works for me.
