Don't lose hope and learn. The good thing about ff14 fights are they have so little rng you can literally learn to predict what you need to do over time. At the worst of cases you can stop pressing buttons foresee you need to be at xyz spot in 5 seconds move there beforehand and then start pressing buttons again.
If you're trying to learn to just react to things of course 14 is a bad game for that just because of how snapshotting works. It's better to learn how to premove correctly on all the mechanics.

I never stopped to look at it this way, I just got frustrated thinking I just can't do it, so i haven't played in a few days, I am going to go into it and just run around and not fight, to try and learn the fight. Such a good idea idk why I didn't think it was an option.
My Anxiety just kept telling me you suck, you can't do it just give up, and the people commenting reiterated what my Anxiety brain was telling me.
now for trials I wont be able to do that so hopefully they don't mind me floor tanking lol

I wish more people would respond like you, Instead of attacking us telling us It's Easy, get good or quit. It only makes us upset even more with our inadequacy

When people are telling you to get good and improve, they often aren't being dismissive. Take them at face value. If you don't know how to do those things (which is fine! this game has a huge problem with teaching its players!) then ask people who have figured it out and see if that works. I know there is a tendency to think of people who are telling you to improve as looking down on you for being bad. I know it can feel really awful when you know you are relatively underperforming and you just feel like a burden. The only time in this game I ever get frustrated with a player for not being good enough is when that player is me.

The game is an MMO. Raiders are generally very passionate, and far more social than you may presume. We can't clear the raids on our own! Most raid groups are just 8 people chatting and making jokes while working through whatever fight it happens to be. We care a lot about our own performance, and improving, and love to see others share in that passion. Genuinely, don't be afraid to reach out, and if anyone does actually end up being mean just ignore them.

If I had to give my best advice, it is to stop reacting, and start predicting. Start paying attention to patterns, and thinking about how a thing can be done. Take every failed mechanic, and every wipe as a small opportunity to reflect and adjust. For example, the one time a boss killed me in the MSQ was orogenics boss 1 - it was a lot faster than I was expecting - and also I was not expecting it to repeat the same side twice... so I moved back to the center to reduce the movement needed when the tell is shown, and also used sprint just to make it a bit easier on me... and it worked. Honestly, just that attitude and perspective alone is the difference between those who do extremes+ and those who don't. Dying and wiping is fine! Don't be ashamed of it. You'll get there, I believe in you.

Shadow I also had some trouble this time around with 1 of the trusts. I have found that playing a ranged DPS then following the healer around like I am almost glued to them really helps me miss the multiple ground aoe square loves so much and helps me be out of harm's way in most coming attacks. Just a tip to try if you choose. Usually works for me.

The posts dripping with condescension from the "Git Gud" crowd are a stain upon what many consider one of the better MMO communities. It's really gross.

In any case, no solution is ever going to please everyone. It's impossible. Furthermore, adjusting the game to fit the needs and wants of people that participate on the official forums is largely a wasted effort. I wager the majority of the player base does not participate in the forums. Any adjustments made are being made to cater to the vocal minority on one extreme or the other.

My personal opinion is MSQ content should be fairly easy and largely stress-free. Normal raids, alliance raids, optional normal trials, and extreme trials should be fairly difficult and not be faceroll. Higher-level content should, obviously, be very challenging.

Fact is, you're never going to please everyone, but there are plenty of players that sub and do new content and then unsub. They come back months later having forgot some things. They struggle with the basics and die constantly. No one is happy in that situation.

I didn't find the new content too crazy challenging. Especially the dungeons. The final trial was a bit much for a normal trial, but better gear and future Echo will alleviate the challenge. Just like Nidhogg.

The TL;DR: It's impossible to please everyone. Some portion of the playerbase will always be unhappy.

The DT dungeons are a bit more difficult than the ones in previous expansions were, it's true. For my part, I enjoy it but it may feel too much for some people, I can get that.
That said, you have tools at your disposition to help you overcome this. Trust, paradoxically, can be harder than doing the dungeon with the duty finder. I've definitely struggled more on trust, having tried both, as you instantly wipe when you die.
I would advise you trying to do these dungeons with a group of players. It's ok to die, you can be resurrected. It's ok to fail, everyone fails sometimes. And it's ok to be carried through content sometimes. I don't think of myself as a very good player, I am at best a competent one. I really don't mind carrying people that struggle. Try forming a PF, saying clearly that you're having difficulty. I'm sure you'll find people to help you. And maybe you won't have as much difficulty on the next duty that will have different mechanics.

After five expansions and 100 levels, you’d think we'd have a solid grasp on most mechanics, even if they overlap or are slightly different. Square has even streamlined a lot of visual markers for clarity, like stacking and personal AOE's.

In my group, we have players with varying skill levels, similar to playing with randoms. If you fail miserably in a dungeon or trial, there’s usually plenty of room for others to help you recover. And if you wipe because of a new mechanic, remember: don’t be scared of wiping—it happens, it's part of the fun and of overcoming adversity. (Please don't take that away..)

Seems like an easy way to solve this problem would be to simply make Trusts have a difficulty toggle like solo duties do (or echo etc), or have each boss similar to trials with a free revive or something. Personally, I actually find that trusts can be harder as they're a bit unpredictable in their pathing and often can get you killed which resets the fight. I'm guessing they have the "reset on death" mechanic so people wouldn't just afk and not resurrect but it makes running with people who can battle res you a lot less stressful. I imagine if they changed this up, the difficulty spike wouldn't be so bad for those struggling as it's a bit punishing if you die near the end of the boss fight.

Personally I don't mind some of the difficulty, I just think they need to improve their netcode if they want to make mechanics more twitchy that instagib.

I think a lot of these threads like this one could easily be solved if we had a poll system on the forums.

So if you disagree and think the MSQ dungeons are fine as they are hit a like on this post.

Oh, it would be absolutely and overwhelmingly stacked against OP. But I firmly believe these forums don't represent the views of the community as a whole, no forum populace ever does.
