I find it interesting that all arguments against any sort of change to the damage kit can be boiled down to "but my dps".

People have become so intoxicated by how easy healing is that they cannot accept that they sometimes have to sacrifice damage to do the only job they're in the party for.

If the general community sentiment is "I don't want to lose damage for any reason, I want to do my main job completely for free despite any situation.", then I can see why the dev team is stuck on designing healers in more creative ways. The only design that can fit that kind of sentiment is what we have now, spam one button with 1 weave slot and any GCD spells will be damage neutral, so that's just what we're going to be stuck with.
