Maelstrom may attack Flames first depending on the situation but if they do, Adders usually attacks Maelstrom because Flames is stronger from BH farming so the option would be to attack the weaker team out of the two. After this, Maelstrom will focus on Adders to avoid getting teamed by both Adders and Flames (as Adders is the weakest so the biggest threat is Maelstrom to Flames).

Eventually Maelstrom will have to attack Flames and both teams will backhand Adders if they try to benefit from the two teams on the fighting. Since both of the top teams at this point have a substantial BH advantage, Adders is pretty much done.
You're suggesting that, in a mode in which team assignment is random, the Flames have a tendency to behave in a certain way?
