    Endwalker's state of tanks is a situation where "1 tank does the best of everything that the 4 tanks do" as you put it.

    With WAR right now, its currently sitting as basically an omni-job with mechanics from all the other tanks slapped into it, while doing those things better than the other 3, while also being the easiest job to play in the game. The only slight, and damn do I mean slight, semblance of a downside WAR can even remotely run into right now is that it can run out of % mitigation if used poorly.

    We've evened the DPS gaps between tanks, so now we have to look at what else tanks bring to a party.

    You want a tank who has the strongest most spammable invul that trivializes tank mechs? You pick WAR.
    You want the tank with the strongest short mit on an allied player capable of indefinitely pocketing a dps or healer while also double dipping and providing you with sustain to shrug of Autos? You pick WAR.
    You want the tank with the strongest fire and forget team wide mitigation? You pick WAR.
    You want the easiest tank to optimize in basically anyfight? Thats WAR.


    Dark Knight gets a fat personal shield? WARS gotta have that on Bloodwhetting.
    GNB getting a regen skill? Can't have that without putting that on WAR too, thank god we got Enhanced Equilibrium that basically reads "Additional Effect Aurora"
    PLD getting a rework to make Veil not require you to shoot yourself in the legs to use it? Equal Attention present for WAR with Shake it Off (Overtime) so it remains the better skill of the two.


    By comparison, 10% mitigation against magic damage just feels a bit mundane doesn't it?

    I have less of an issue with PLD having additional tools because at least that job usually has to pay in one way or another to bring that utility.
    Nothing is as hilariously free as every single skill reading "Additional Effect" for arbitrary reasons.

    So I'm going to keep saying that other tanks should be able to bring this level of utility if its the norm set by Dev's Favorite.
    Or at least some level of it so it just doesn't feel like the choice of tank is just a difficulty slider with no rewards at the top for playing objectively harder jobs.
    Yes we are in this situation because people keep constantly asking for small gaps in their kit to be fixed, you are enabling exactly how we got into this situation now by asking for buffs that aren’t needed because you see differences in classes that don’t actually cause them to struggle

    You know that WAR always gets the best of everything, why even bother asking for buffs to the other tanks, they will just buff WAR again so it has its special place and the cycle goes round again, as much as you think you are asking for the “harmless” buffs it just circles around and around

    And the community should actively come together and ask for these nerfs. But we both know that won't happen.

    So, should all tanks just arbitrarily remain worse warrior so that Warrior mains get to feel all warm and fuzzy knowing they get to do everything we do but better without any downsides?
    Or do we further the powercreep in response to the unreasonable demands of the War playerbase that got us to where we are now?
    Because realistically, these are the only 2 options. There's no way they're nerfing things. And i do not want to play Warrior. It's uninteresting to optimise and the job fantasy is cringe. Barbarians are not healers.

    Yeah, it needs to be. I think all of the tanks need nerfs and some rethinking. Warrior just needs the fattest of nerfs.
    I would like to see an environment where you have different tanks shine in different fights or pieces of content.
    You'd need weaknesses across all the tanks to make this happen, but Warrior has absolutely *NONE*.
    Yet when people bring up that Drk can't heal, they'll say that's a healer's job. Funny how that doesn't translate to War in any way. Hell, War is allowed to replace them now. (Imagine War requiring external mits)
    Warrior in it's current state will never allow for any sort of job identity among the tanks.

    Warrior is just the best and go-to tank for every piece of content, and every fight. Be it criterion, legacy ultimates or current savage fights.
    Warrior does more healing and is more tanky than the PALADIN, does more damage than the selfish tank, does more shielding than the tank who's entire gimmick revolves around shields, has by *far* the best invuln, which enables strategies that trivialise savage mechanics (Strategies ONLY possible with a War) And to add insult to injury, is easier to optimise than any other tank.

    Warrior's current state in the game is unhealthy and not sustainable. War made me drop raiding altogether for the forseeable future. Knowing that Warrior would be the better and easier pick in *any* given situation leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth every time i do any sort of endgame content. And despite being asked and pressured multiple times to switch to it, i do NOT want to play it. If it still remains the best answer to every single problem in DT, i think i'll just move on from the game unceremoniously.

    My wishlist for 7.0 for PLD (this will also contain ideas already said but whatever.)

    - Rework Fight or Flight into a low damage oGCD at lower level +25% buff damage, then get replaced by Requiescat at level 68 to keep the same button and gameplay for the whole game (Requiescat then deal damage and buff Paladin). Buff potency of Requiescat from 320 to 400 in order to not nerf the damage because of it. (Reduce Button bloat)

    - Make Shield Bash a conal AoE alternative of Goring Blade (share the same 60 sec CD) does a 6 second Stun to every target caught in it for a potency of 150, upgrade it at level 92 with a new name, new animation and 300 potency (so better for 3 target or more). (Make relevant a clearly underused attack.)

    - Passage of arms reworked to be a buff that reduce damage incoming for every ally present in a 8 yalms circle radius including the paladin in the math. Damage can be reduced up to 15% for a minimum of 2%. (Make it viable without destroying Paladin's DPS)

    - Sentinel upgrade (To make it unique, I hope other tank will also have something unique on this one for PSB and DRK). Still reduce damage by 30% for 15 seconds. If used while targeting an ally, also reduce the incoming damage for the target by 15% for 15 sec. (Similar to Dragon Sight)

    - Fast blade and Riot blade upgrade with new name and animation (They need it, and I think the equivalent for WAR also need it)

    - Circle of Scorn upgrade with new name and Animation.

    - Divine Veil QoL change : Shield all party member for 10% HP of the Paladin, and heal 400 Potency. Any overheal will be converted as a shield equivalent of 100% of that value. (Avoid overheal)

    They really need to make it so I'm not so uh... "vulnerable" to healers who won't stop healing like mad with living dead up. Usually an issue with healers that can't keep up very well. I've seen the last second benediction WHM who heals me out of living dead despite not being able to keep up healing when it expires. Now I've seen the physick/adlo scholar who lets me die 2 seconds after it expires.

    Just let my living dead pop and it'd compensate for these healers . I've tried to communicate with them too but some people just don't listen. I mean it's better than it used to be but it still has issues being used with people who won't let it pop.

    Dark Knight:
    Get a party buff like trick attack (Maybe on Salted Earth). Dark Knight needs something like this to stick out from other tanks.
    Unmend to get an empowered form for burst and ranged attacks. Just anything in the flavour of a dark magic spell added to DRK would be great.
    Remaking to Dark Arts and stop relying on TBN for it, if this means TBN breaks in one hit or you get the charge from a different button that's fine.
    No buffs to sustain. It's good when jobs have unique weakness and strength. I'd much rather drk gains something unique than merely making DRK drain and playing catch-up to warrior.

    Warrior:
    The aura effect being swapped from "has beast gauge" to Storms Eye. It's useless to know if you have meter currently because there's a UI for it, but it's useful to tell if you have Storm's Path.
    If they just remade the beast gauge system to be more interesting, ... more ways to gain or spend it? that would be great too.

    I have another wish for PLD...

    I know it's too much for me to ask this but since AST cards, when drawn, no longer expires... can we please do it to Sword Oath/Divine Might/Requiescat/Confiteor Ready too? I mean, the job has a lot of conditional statuses to juggle. Might at least give it a nudge to make things a lot more smoother and comfy?

    I mean if you can not manage your conditional buffs then put more time into practicing or put the conditional buffs tab else where to make it easier for you to track. We don't need anymore coddling on jobs as they are, currently.
