I keep seeing people complain about rampant PL and I wonder if you guys are all full 50s, or have actually leveled a class/job lately...Actually it also goes into the argument about lacking content for lvls 1~40.

I am newly returned to the game (after 1.21). I'm up to 41 PLD now and having a freaking blast. I have not once PL'd, and why would I? I can level pretty insanely quickly through normal play (whether that be group grind, solo leves, or whatever). Furthermore, my leveling experience has been constantly supplemented by Main Scenario, Grand Company, Class and Job quests. I spent a little time early on in Shposhae, and did a few good runs through Toto Rak.

I do agree that there could be a little more dungeon content in the lower ranges, but there's no reason to even bother unless they SLOW DOWN leveling, cause otherwise you will just burn right past it all. Personally I hope they will separate jobs from classes, so like you unlock BRD and then level it up from 1. Hopefully AF weapons will show that they can make weapons unlinked from the base class, which will open up lots of cool possibilities for making that whole system work more smoothly!

/ramble off, back to topic...Do you seriously see so many people powerleveling? I've never done it, nobody in my LS does it (I've never heard them mention it), and in fact I don't think I've ever even SEEN somebody doing it. Sometimes it's crazy how different perceptions appear in-game as compared to the talk on the official forums.

My playtime is pretty limited. Usually EST early evening/late night on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and late morning/midday Saturdays (yea it's a schedule, talk to my wife haha). Look me up if you're around those times.

and it has only taken you about a month to get to 41 not including the 10 levels you had already gained back in october/november so it has taken you almost a month just for 30 levels, wow that's so insanely fast. before you make statements always remember there is a history of your character available to anyone.

I am not sure what you are trying to get at (I mean that sincerely). Are you saying I was wrong to say I level quickly, because it has been almost a month?

Well if you knew me you'd know I have a very casual play schedule. Probably ~ 15 hours/week maximum. So I figure I will cap in what, somewhere around 3 days /played, and that's including all the questing and etc. I think that is plenty quick, although I suppose the terminology is subjective.

Rather I should say, I have leveled "insanely quickly, IMO".

understood there. i'm usually there only because i am crafting and working towards my luminary tools during the day because our ls runs events in the evenings.

i'll be glad to answer your post since it is well thought out unlike some of the others in this thread.

yes, i am all 50's on my main. i finished capping my last class in november of last year so it's been a while leveling on it. i have leveled some on my alt though and can see a vast difference in the leveling speed, whether it be solo or party. there is a severe lack of content in every level range and not just mid levels.

if you go by pure numbers there's actually more mid level stuff than there is high level stuff even though the game is very top heavy.

i'm glad to hear you are enjoying your time leveling up. yes, if you enjoy getting into groups and playing with others then the way you are leveling is the way to go. it also helps you perfect learning what role you have in the party and what you are expected to do.

the thing about low level content is the same issue with getting low level gear. people blow by it and never have a need for it unless they want to get the little lodestone achievement. there's over 20 pieces of mid level content actually in game now. there's actually less at cap by the numbers.

i'm really suprised to see you don't see that many people power leveling. it is constantly shouted for and people shouting they will pay x amount for it in ud. in one shell i am in it rarely gets mentioned, but the social shell i am in it gets asked for all the time and people will actually get rude towards you if you tell them you don't pl anyone.
