Honestly, the issue is that a lot - not all, but the loud, prodigious voices - of the people who dislike the game don't offer suggestions or critiques at all.
They attack other players, they attack the devs, the attack anyone presenting opposing arguments. They don't critique the game, they don't offer suggestions for improvement. And in the rare cases they do, they drown them out by burying them deep in vitriol and insults to the point no sane person can be expected to find them.
I say keep voicing changes you think are worthwhile - I do all the time - just do so respectfully and with argument for why you think it's a problem and why you think your solution works. You may not get exactly what you want that way (some things may not be workable), but you may encourage some change (it may spur ideas for things that can be done), too.
For example, I think players asking for exploration content have been heard. Perhaps not quite enough, but it sounds like they're planning one for the next expansion; and the reason EW didn't have one was probably due to all the complaints in SB and ShB of players against them.
Which is the other thing - don't ask for things to be removed. Because that tends to happen if enough people ask for it, and there's not always a replacement...
.
EDIT:
1) Don't attack other players when offering critique/argument.
2) Don't engage in hyperbole.
If you can stick to those two rules, you might get more results.
