A new tactic for the dissatisfied

Let's face it, even if there is a decent sized portion of the game's population that is wants to see improvements, even if that entire group banded together and created one mega petition, nothing would come of it.

People are rarely interested in making the effort to prevent issues from arising, but when the issues has become a problem, often there's motivation.

I understand that there's a lot of impassioned people who truly want to see improvements, so this might be hard, but this is one of the faster remedies. Give up hoping for change, give up asking for change. Leave things be, and encourage them to stay the same and continue down the path they're continuing. The faster you allow the situation to fester the faster you'll get your results of change when the issues you find troublesome reach the point where they can no longer be ignored.

I don't personally hate the game, but there's a lot of improvements I'd like that I know have no chance of ever being added to the game as it stands currently. Keep playing and doing whatever you enjoy in the game or quit if there's nothing left for you, while supporting the game's current path. Hope for the worst and encourage it because the sooner it occurs the sooner you'll see change.

Nah, I'm good. I don't believe in defeatism.

I don't consider it defeatism. It's only a tiny bit more extreme than a large group of people attempting to use their financial payments to sway a company's perspective.

It's a form of protest. The majority of people in this world don't take the majority of issues seriously until said issues have become larger, harder to ignore issues.

Think of the doctors that ignore patient's medical issues until the patient is suffering greatly, or think of how general communities will ignore poor behavior until it escalates to a certain point, or even think of how politicians get get away with a good amount until they cross certain lines.

Most people have an ego. Encourage the ego, encourage them to cross those lines, so that change will have to occur.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

But I'm an addict and I'm not responsible for the consequences of my actions, everybody else is.

Op has a point, if the developers want problems to fester until something breaks I say let it happen.

I've seen this happen before with other developers, and how many MMOs actually suffered for snuffing out feedback? Plenty, and most paid the price for it.

One I've seen was Elder Scrolls Online, they were so completely arrogant in their approach that it caused them to bleed players until they finally decided to make some major changes (last I heard anyway).

Considering it's what happened to WoW and a number of other MMOs that had to massively course correct after they started bleeding progressively more players due to ignoring negative feedback, I feel like it's inevitably going to repeat itself here.

Regardless, I'd still rather continue giving feedback as the content comes in a vain hope they might actually listen.

The dissatisfied are the severe minority. They think that they're bigger than they are, as they cannot fathom that most players are happy with the game.

Eventually the "dissatisfied minority" will get bigger and bigger if they don't listen to feedback and more people quietly leave if there not willing to change things in the game. Providing critical feedback is what replaced the failure of 1.0 with the resurrected 2.0 game we have if they continue to ignore feedback from arrogance/complacency we will get another 1.0 situation but this time it will be a slow long term bleed out rather then a quick death.

"most players are happy with the game"

aka the modders, venue goers and ERPers

good for them eh ? Glad that's who you want to be around of in an MMORPG, because most people that actually play content are done a week in the patch, just FYI
