I have a friend who played 1.0. Whenever I said to them one time "I really wish I could have played it", they were insanely quick to say "No. No you don't." lol
Yeah, literally everyone that I've talked to that has played earlier versions of the game has told me that I don't want to play those versions no matter how curious I might be about the experience.
Played 1.0. It had it's issues but I wouldn't consider it a "dumpster fire". It was certainly playable. IMO it's biggest issue was WoW still being in it's phase of Blizzard cramming it down everyone's throats with excessive ads on websites and magazines, celebrity commercials, and any type of licensed merchandise you can think of being flooded into stores (and yes... any type, and also inside "adult" toy stores).
Babylon's Fall could be considered a dumpster fire... how many months was that up before it shut down?
I've also had a lot of people tell me to not play eureka and when I played it it was the best time I ever had when playing any mmo *shrug*. People overblow things.
Personal taste is subjective, sure, but 1.0 is pretty universally hated, even by those who were there at the time. I'd be willing to take them at their word. All of that said, I wouldn't mind having a single player version of the main story, at least.
Oh but you see, nothing will happen because FF14 isn't a video game. It's a platform for people to ERP. It won't die until modders move on to another gameOp has a point, if the developers want problems to fester until something breaks I say let it happen.
I've seen this happen before with other developers, and how many MMOs actually suffered for snuffing out feedback? Plenty, and most paid the price for it.
One I've seen was Elder Scrolls Online, they were so completely arrogant in their approach that it caused them to bleed players until they finally decided to make some major changes (last I heard anyway).![]()
